Wonderful Full Frame lens with outstanding sharpness
I didn't want to pay full price for the lens so I took a chance and bought a used lens thru amazon. I was very happy with the purchase. It was in almost new condition and it was $300 less than the full price. This lens is not really small but it's not as huge as some of the other full frame lenses for Sony cameras. Coming from an a6300 I was used to compact and lightweight so it was a compromise to buy a full frame a7cii and a few other FF lenses. I already had 4 in my arsenal but I wanted lower light prime and 24mm is perfect for me. (IF I want a longer focal length I only have to put it in ASP-C mode)The lens is a perfect balance for the A7cii. Not too large and very balanced. The autofocus is spot on for a Sony lens. It has several buttons on it that make it a "G" lens although I don't always use them but I'm glad they're there. If you're on the fence about a low light prime you will be very happy with this 24mm "G" lens. The filter thread isn't ridiculous and I have a few other lenses with the same filter thread OR I just a step up or step down ring. I've gotten incredible photos with this lens and I can't wait to use it for more photography.

Another great G-Master lens
Sony G-Master quality. Super sharp and solid built quality. I never regret when I buy these lenses.

Amazing video lens!
Just got this lens a few weeks ago but I absolutely live it! The sharpness is amazing and autofocus is as good as it gets for Sony. The video from this lens is just epic on an A7R III. Highly recommend this lens for video. Also, very good for astro! The f1.4 allows so much light that you can get away with shorter shutter speeds to avoid star trails. The f1.4 also creates a super shallow depth of field and creamy bokeh. It shines at night or in low light. Perfect wide angle for most applications! My only complaint is the high price tag but it is worth it so far. Still need my 14-24mm for the wider end. On A7R III the wide focal length isn't as bad for distant subjects (in a pinch, or no longer lens available) as the sharpness is SO good you can crop for days on the 42mp RAW files to zoom in a bit. Or, use it in APS-C mode for 36mm @18mp files. SO GOOD!

outstanding astro lens
I am primarily a Canon shooter but after buying and testing many of the fast and wide astro lenses for my Canon body, I was left hoping for something better. The best I've found (Tamron 15-30 f/2.8) is a relatively good astro lens with low coma and wide FOV, but I really wanted something faster. When I saw the initial astro reviews for this Sony 24mm f/1.4 I knew I had to give it a whirl, so I picked up a A7iii and this lens and have been using it for several months now. Bottom line is that I'm very impressed. The star distortion is very low. I had tested the Sigma Art 20mm f/1.4 and found it unusable but this Sony is so much better. At f/1.4 the far corners have a little bit of coma which you can notice at 100% magnification, but by f/2.0 this is essentially gone. I also like the sharpness, and feel the size and weight are outstanding for the image quality this lens delivers. I still prefer my Canon for daytime use (love the optical viewfinder), but for wide angle night work, the Sony A7 + 24mm f/1.4 is my preferred setup

What can I say? Perfection.
For a long time I was agonizing over which lens I wanted to buy for the wider end. I was debating between spending the money on the FE 16-35 f/2.8 GM or the f/4 Zeiss lens. all this time, however, the 24mm GM was in the back of my mind, and I couldn't stop thinking about how sexy a lens it it.Getting a 16-35 would be the "safe" choice. I needed it because every youtube talking head was drilling it into my head that I should get it. YOU NEED ATHE HOLY TRINITY. Well I, have the Tammy 28-74 f/2.8 and the 100-400GM as well, so i was never going to have a proper holy trinity of lenses anyway, so I decided YOLO and ordered the 24mm f/1.4 GM instead. I am very glad I did. This lens is stunning. It's barely left my camera since I got it.It's the sharpest lens I own, and the build quality is amazing and it's significantly less expensive than the 16-35GM while being plenty wide for my needs. I don't regret calling an audible and getting this lens instead. If you're on the fence about this lens, do it. It's a very special lens.

Ultimate travel lens
This is Sony's most versatile low-light lens. I own this, 50mm 1.2 GM, 24-70 GM II, 100-400 GM, but if I had to bring only one lens to cover a random situation including low-light photography, it'd be 24mm 1.4 GM. Never disappoints and is so small I can keep it in my pocket. If you're starting with high-quality glass, this is the fool-proof entry point, and once you get other more expensive lenses after this, you'll find yourself coming back to 24mm GM again and again. Can do video (with minimal focus breathing), landscapes, astro, street, group photos, and even portraits with beautiful bokeh. To me, 24mm 1.4 GM is the ultimate travel lens.

Fast lens that is great for photos and video
This is probably my favorite lens for film and photography using the Sony A7III. It does a great job capturing a wide range of indoor and outdoor shots even under very low-light conditions. With the 1.4 aperture, it is possible to get some great astrophotography. While filming in a nearly dark cemetery at night, I was able to capture some great film without any grain and it even does well with portrait if close enough to the subject. Overall, this is a well rounded lens for film and photography, providing a wider angle without distortion at the edges or a warped image. It is a pricier lens, but I have gotten a lot of use out of it and will continue to use it as my go-to lens.

Excellent All-Around Lens. Super Sharp!!!
Great Prime lens and extremely sharp. I have the Sony 20mm F1.8 G also. I expected the GM to be a bit better. It isn't IMO. In my experience they are both equally sharp. Since I got such a great deal on the 24mm, I'll keep it for low light situations. But if you are strapped for cash and have to choose, the 20mm F1.8 is just as good in virtually every aspect. The attached xFine JPG test shot is SOOC (no processing).
