Solid but....
These magazine files are great! For the cost, they're nearly perfect. They feel very solid, and the design is great.... However, that being said, who in the world thought that it would be a good idea to make these so oddly shaped? It literally makes no sense that the sides would angle inwards so that the back is an inch thinner than the front. I bought two that I have sitting next to each other on my bookcase now, and I feel as though I'm missing a solid 2" of space that I could have used. At this price though I can't complain too much. I've spent more on cardboard ones in the past! I am pleased with my purchase overall, and I am considering buying more.

These topple over whenever a book or binder is removed ...
These topple over whenever a book or binder is removed. They are rather flimsy. As long as they are wedged together on a shelve, they are sufficient. My kids have to be careful, though; I noticed when they put a book back on the side, they sometimes catch the edge in the open space and ruin the pages.

Plastic
The picture really makes this thing look metal. Am I one of the people that didn't see the obvious "this thing is plastic" message in the item description? Ah well, it is just a magazine holder. I can't really love it with a 5-star rating. That would just be awkward.

FALSE ADVERTISING!!
The dimensions of these are not as advertised! The FRONT of the holder is 4.5" but the back is only 3.5" so you can only fit 3.5 inches of magazines into these holders. Also because of this the don't sit flush side by side. The other thing that is really annoying is the open sides will catch the edges of the magazine as you pull them in and out and tear the covers.Had I knows that these were not 4.5" wide and do not sit flush to each other I would NOT have ordered them. However, it will cost me more in gas to drive them back across the border to ship them back. I'm REALLY REALLY ticked off about this though. I would have bought something else had I known. The dimensions that are posted are FALSE.

It's a great addition to my bookshelf
It's a great addition to my bookshelf, and keeps my magazines organized. Just beware, it is really large, the smaller one probably would have fit my situation a little better, but a great product, can't attest to durability as it's stayed put, overall seems maybe a little flimsy but sturdy enough for anything probably chemistry books.

Pretty good
Got these to hold school books and notebooks. They work pretty well, but one thing I don't like about them is the back is narrower than the front opening. This makes it awkward for them to sit side-by-side together and it doesn't look that great when trying to keep them straight next to each other.

This is good for magazines and books but not for papers
This is good for magazines and books but not for papers. My paperwork gets stuck in the space gaps.

OK, but design needs improvement
A little flimsy and the tapered side makes no sense - only makes inserting items into it a little difficult. The manufacturer's designer must have been having a bad day!
