Love My Soda Sparkle
We love sparkling water, but at times it can be difficult to find in any quantity at our local stores. That is when I decided to look into making my own at home. I checked out some of the counter-top models, but for the price they were charging, the reviews were less than stellar. That is when I came across the Soda Sparkle...the price was right, the reviews were good, so why not? So far I am very happy with my purchase. The Soda Sparkle is very simple. It comes with its own bottle and a five-pack starter kit of Co2 cartridges. You add chilled water to the bottle, screw in the "charger", place a cartridge into the "charger", tighten, and the Co2 cartridge is pierced, sending the Co2 into the water. Shake the bottle to insure that the water is infused with the Co2 and you are ready to drink. The water tastes better, in my opinion, than the store-bought brands, and I like to buy the little packets of lemonade/fruit mixes to make flavored sodas. It's great! Just remember that the bottle cannot be put into a dish-washer and the Co2 cartridges can only be used once. You can buy other brands (less expensive than the Soda Sparkle cartridges) of Co2 cartridges, but they are slightly shorter, so you need to place a small piece of cardboard into the Charger so they will get pierced when you tighten it down. I am very happy with my purchase and I think you will be as well.

Enjoyed making carbonated water for the first eight liters
Enjoyed making carbonated water for the first eight liters. Then the end blew out of the center shaft and it's totally useless. After using the five CO2 cartridges that came with the Soda Sparkle, I used the iSi brand cartridges and put a little bit of cork in the holder to make up the length per other reviewers' suggestions. I don't know if using another brand of cartridge caused the blowout (they did seem to be more pressurized) or the Soda Sparkle is just too cheaply made. Either way, my experience with the Soda Sparkle is short-lived. I will not be buying another one.

Not impressed.
It makes one liter of carbonated water using cold water in a proprietary supplied bottle. The charger has to be removed for storing the carbonated water losing some carbonation in the process.Slightly longer CO2 cartridges mean a standard CO2 cartridge seal isn’t punctured. Dropping a dime in the charger housing fixes that, but it’s a short sighted effort to sell proprietary CO2 cartridges.Bottom line is I can make 1 liter of carbonated water for what it costs me to buy 2 liters of soda water at the store for. That’s assuming the use of tap water or home filtered water. Purchased water really increases the cost of the end product. If you buy large quantities of cartridges, the unit price decreases.

... lot cheaper than a soda stream and is very easy to use
It is a lot cheaper than a soda stream and is very easy to use. But I found that to make a drink really fizzy I need to use two co2 packs. But that is my personal view on how fizzy I want it. It came with a box of co2 packs but I also ordered another brand of them that was cheaper. But those were about 1/8 of an inch shorter and the pin wouldn't poke thru it. I found by taking a 1 inch square two sided sticky tab, like you use to hang posters on the wall, than cutting them to fit the top and sticking it on it added the extra 1/8 inch to make them work.

Disappointing experience with kit and oil scented water
I loved the idea of the product since I since I drink lots of sparkling water. the product had great instructions and was easy to use. I purchased the introductory kit and 4 out of the chargers smell and tasted like oil. I had someone try as well for a second opinion. Since the charges came with the kit I would have thought they would be food grade and was told the CO2 unless should not have a distinct scent or smell. Very disappointing. The bottle that it came with should be able to be used for quite a few uses. However the PET expiration date says 7/1/16....so only 2 months. Not great.

Try it
Good way to get yourself off of a diet soda addiction! Works fine, actually fun to use. Saves you money! Just a little squirt of lemon juice in your cup and the carbonated water is all I need. No more hauling soda packs from the grocery! Also the generic CO2 cartridges work just fine with it. My wife is proud of me too!

DO NOT BUY - SAFETY HAZARD
SAFETY HAZARD! I pulled this out last night for the first time in a couple of months to use it, and it EXPLODED in my hands when the cartridge engaged. After my nerves calmed down (at least I wasn't injured), I examined the product. The bottle itself came half out of the black base it's in, and the end of the stem where the bubbles come out of was completely blown off. When I checked to see if I could send feedback to the shipper, the deadline for feedback ended in late June, so I'm putting this out here for anyone else who might have this product.

OK but disappointed
I like sparkling water but I'm a little disappointed with my Soda Sparkle. It's OK, but the water it produces is less "sparkly," less carbonated than what I'd been buying at my supermarket.I see the Q&A about carbonation where one answer said using less water might increase carbonation. I'll try that, but it will also increase my cost per ounce. I'd also bought a box of chargers, will have to make some judgment whether to buy more when I've used them up
