Brilliant and Gorgeous!
I fell in love with India through the study of its ancient healing system Ayurveda, so when I came across this unique Tarot deck, it called to me instantly and I’m thrilled with it, eager to explore the cards and their insights. The accompanying book is fabulous, too: deep but also easy to understand — kudos to the author and creator for his ability to unite Tarot with the profound spirituality of India. Highly recommended!Follow-up: This is fast becoming a favorite deck; the insights of the book are truly remarkable and soul-resonant.

Best Tarot Deck Ever!
I have a pretty large collection of over 100 tarot decks. This set by far exceeds all the others. I am a yogi and a meditator so that probably explains my fascination with it. The information in the book is stellar and transformative. The card images are all beautiful and unique, yet flow together nicely. Each card tells it's own story in such a way which ignites a deep inner seeking. I never get bored with this deck; it is truly spectacular. Thank you to the creators for such a wonderful tarot deck.

Amazing work of art! Neuro masterpiece!
This is the most magnificent work of art I’ve ever seen.I’m a practicing Jyotishi, and I’m super skilled on IFS and other consciousness concepts, so since I my own chart is Indra’s and I’m Punarvasu rising the Ramayana, Bheeshma’s journey, Ganga, and King Shantanu lines were so hopeful.I just love this deck.

I am amazed
All my Tarot reading life I have sought a deck with a Hindu or Indian theme and on a whim I typed the right words into Amazon and got The Tarot of Sacred India. After reading the product details, I knew I had to have it. I figured it would be a RW style deck with East Indian pictures. I'm glad I was wrong. The Major Arcana is done with the Gods and Goddesses of Hindu religion and there are a few surprises there. I wont spoil it. The minor Arcana is done with The story of the Buddha, Shiva and Parvati and the other two suits come from the Ramayana and Mahabharata. It is similar to the style of The Mythic Tarot. It comes in a set with a book about 330 pages. It has no LWB. The author goes into some very heavy stuff before the section on the cards. He writes about Mantra, Yantra, and Karma. All of these things have to do with the cards. I don't think this is a deck that you would be able to just start reading for people right out of the gate. You shouldn't. The author also has a lot to say about some tarot traditions that some may have forgotten such as cleansing the deck before reading, not letting others handle the deck and suggests you keep one for personal readings and one for the public. This is not a deck for beginners unless they have a real affinity with all things Indian and already know the concepts he discusses The artwork is not what I expected, but I love what has been done.I adore these cards. I would recommend these to anyone who loves the Tarot and India! The author takes the religious history of his country very seriously which only adds to its greatness. Each Major Arcana card has a detailed description of the God or Goddess represented as well as their Mantra. Instead of upright/reverse he uses the terms Light and Shadow depending on the other cards and their placement. I would call this a scholarly deck. Each card in the Major Arcana also has been given a karma type which he explains at the beginning of the book. There are two death cards, one being (no surprise) Kali and two World cards. He doesn't have to work hard to make the stories fit the cards, its as if the Tarot were made for the Hindu pantheon. The cards are made of good quality card stock that wont fall apart easily. The artist does a wonderful job and at first I was disappointed that the cards didn't have that look we have all associated with Hindu art, I was pleasantly surprised with her use of color and the little hidden things in the cards. I really can't say enough good things about this deck. I have only read for myself so far so I can't really comment on that yet. Buy this deck, it really is amazing!

Excellent deck not for beginners tho
I love this deck, but it is not for beginners, unless they are truly using it as part of Hindu study. The handbook is incredibly informative, and Arya knows his Tarot, and his lore certainly. Some of his information on the history of Tarot is dated, known now to not be correct but the card meanings are very good and pertinent, along with the correlation with Hinduism, making it very satisfying to work with. Some of the art is a little sloppy, tho very lovely. That is my only complaint, as it were!

Poor quality material, possibly used
At best I can only give 4 stars to this product. The materials are low quality. I am still not sure this isn't a used set. The outer box looks askew, glued together haphazardly. The inner box looks damaged as well. The book has a foul oder and yellow pages. This is not the quality expected for an $80. set. My $25 Steampunk set was better quality. Now, as for the actual deck of cards it is of decent cardstock and the artwork is lovely. The text in the book is good and well thought out. I believe the authors had a difficult task and did it well. The should have either used better materials or charge a lower price. So, quality of materials used verses cost lowered the rating. The text, thought, and correlation of the tarot content saved it from being lower.

The Sacred India Tarot
Absolutely stunning. The artwork is monumental. It will take months to digest. It begs for FURTHER EDITIONS to visually explore the other layers of this work. It may be necessary to revisit the same images in a different style, example would be the TAROT OF THE ROSY CROSS "stained glassstyle" or others [take your pick]. The box for this isssue is a disappointment. This work demands the box of a SCHIFFER quality. The booklet came wrapped in plastic, while the cards were not in a shrink-wrap, a total reversal of the "custom". The paper quality of the booklet is highest quality. The creases in it came out with some effort. The deck is missing a Blank Card.
