This book goes beyond gifts! I keep buying for friends, because they’re fascinated with what I learned from this book! It may be focused on a class of people on the mission field, but if you look beyond that capacity, you will find that we were born to do certain things. It takes a couple weeks to work through this book to answer all the questions, but you will soon discover your combination of gifts…AND how easy it it’s to identify other peoples actions and behaviors lol

Don and Katie released this book more than a quarter century ago. It opened doors around the world for them to conduct seminars and teach in churches. It remains a best seller today! Don went to be with the Lord a few years ago, but Katie is still a force to be reckoned with! For many years she was the editor of the monthly magazine of Aglow International. Now in her mid-eighties, writing more books, organizing meetings in her own town of Kingston, WA keeps her busy along with a host of other projects and family activities. This book is a must for those who seek a wider view of something that is inclusive of , but much bigger than many Pentecostal and Charismatic understandings of Spiritual Gifts!

This is the best book I have ever read that explains spiritual gifts. I love that it has tests that you can take to discover your gifts. I love that the authors describe each gift, as well as possible pitfalls in each gift if you are not mature in it. That helps identify where we need to grow in each one. The authors also give Biblical examples of people who had each gift. This is an EXCELLENT book! I have bought multiple copies to give away. Everyone I gave one to, loved the book and it helped them.

This is a very informative look at the spiritual gifts and consequently a person's personality, way of viewing the world, and functioning. I would recommend this book if you are trying to get clarification on your spiritual gifting, ministry, vocation, or just want a better understanding of who God made you to be. This was such a timely God send for me- it was the catalysis for me to look deeper into my purpose and calling- and take action.

The best resource I've found for spiritual gift study so far.The theological foundation is very sound, making good sense of the main passages on spiritual gifts in a way very few others do. Gifts are broken into 1) Manifestation (sign gifts - 1 Cor 12-14; Acts 2) 2) Ministry (equipping gifts - Eph 4) & 3) Motivational (every-Christian-gifts - Rom 12).Written in a style anyone can use.Inventories are great and surprisingly accurate for the limited number of questions used.Warnings regarding misuse of spiritual gift impulses are very helpful (e.g. a "teaching" gift can incline a person to feel they are always right).Application into the arena of employment is a bit excessive and beyond the scope of biblical applications for spiritual gifts. Better to do a Myers-Briggs or some other personality profile for that endeavor.

This book is a must for individual or small group study, every parent & every employer or Volunteer coordinator should be on their required reading list! I have walked through it with two small groups at my church now! Truth rooted in the word with a deeper understanding of your purpose on this earth, why you do what you do, and what jobs & Volunteer work you'll be more effective &fulfilled in...God, will always give you what you need when u are lacking in strengths, but it is eye-opening to understand what part of the body of Christ you were meant to be from day 1! Love this read-always points back to scripture, really easy read!

This book is spot-on with accuracy. I took a Bible study class and plan to re-read it and re-take the quizzes again. It’s been very insightful for me! It helps you kind of realize more about your direction in life and natural talents/gifts. Some of the questions will be in the back of your head for months to come, and with that, you realize more about yourself that you might of not have before :)

This book explained several things about my personality that was unclear but always present. Now I have a deeper understanding of what drives me.

This book will provide a wonderful exposition for anyone going into ministry. For those that have been in ministry it consolidates operational experiences providing supporting Biblical references.

Right from the start I was impressed with how thoroughly the authors based their research in scripture. They do very well in explaining the differences, the "how" and "why" in gifting categories/groupings (motivational, manifestational and ministry), as well as the importance and purpose of each, with the bulk of the book delving into the motivational gifts group. The motivation for why we see/view/do life the way we do is part of our God-given personality as wired with our motivational gift. This is different from the manifestational gifts, those distributed by the Holy Spirit according to His will at any given time. This is also different from the ministry gifts aka 5 fold ministers whom Christ gave as gifts to the Body, for the purpose of equipping the Body. Each group is not exclusive of the other, nor limited in application, although not everyone is called to be, nor desires to be, a 5-fold minister. The authors have done an excellent and thorough work in compiling and explaining how God creates us unique and for His glory, helping us to find our "sweet spot" for the sake of our call and function in the Kingdom of God in order to advance it, as a Body, in every area of life. This book is comprehensive. It's easy to read and has a great capacity to further study if you want to. I've done spiritual tests before only to be left with a feeling of '... now what?' and this book answered that beautifully. It was a breath of fresh air and has changed the way I see life and helping change the way I see people. I'm always curious as to which gifts people have and which gifts they're operating out of. I'm learning how to celebrate gifts different than my own while learning how to channel my own gifts properly. They say on the outside of the book that knowing your gift and how to use it - will bring you joy - and I can confidently say, that is absolutely true. This book will not disappoint.

This is an awesome book for Christian and non Christian. If you are questioning the reason why you are put n this earth and what you are the way you are get this book.
