It holds any incense holder you place in it. I comes with a heat resistant pad. You will probably want to get additional brass holders if you want to do various types of incense. It does collect a wet condensation from cones which you can simply wipe off. Be mindful of doing this before setting the lid on a table cloth etc. I am sure this is true with all lidded incense holders. I really love the product. I do wish it was a smidge larger.
