Automatical Military Watch from Aeromatic 1912 Germany A1027X

If you want a retro 'automatic' German style military watch that comes in a compact size, you will be very pleased with this watch. 40mm case width is just perfectly suitable for any average men's wrists. It's neither too big nor too small. Some military watches go 45-50mm which are enormous and some people like but I don't. I had been looking for an automatic in a compact military style and this Aeromatic is the best value I could find anywhere. The hands and numbers are large and easy to tell time even with a quick glance.Its matte stainless case is thick and solid. The dome crystal is beautiful although lacking AR coating. The included strap is actually of an excellent quality although I replaced mine to dark green because I think a black strap on a black watch is too monochromatic for my taste. I give lume performance 7/10. It's satisfactory but clearly not the super luminova territory. Time keeping is 10/10 as expected of a trusty Seiko NH35 movement which is wind-able and hack-able. It's a proven work horse. 5 atm water resistance is more than enough for daily activities and light swimming.A watch with nothing to dislike indeed considering its affordability! Simple, functional, compact, also elegant, and tasteful. If there is a dressy sub-category of military watches, this watch definitely belongs there.

The watch is light and the band is comfortable. It can be hand wound and is hackable. It is also very accurate. I also like the look. Although I have several watches, mostly solar, as I hate getting batteries replaced, I find that this watch is becoming my watch of choice.
