Solid performing stereo speakers at a reasonable price.

I had my old speaker for almost 40 years and they finally wore out. These Klipsch speakers were a pretty close match in size any are pretty affordable. These speakers are a bit large for “bookshelf” but they should be on stands so they can be positioned in the room where they sound best. There is a port on the back and quite a bit of difference in the bass registers results from how close the speakers are to walls or hard objects. The included manual has basic tips for positioning. The front grilles are held on with magnets snd can be easily removed if desired. The grilles do not seem to affect the sound much, so either on or off is OK.The speakers arrived well protected with plastic wrap and styrofoam in a sturdy box. Setup is easy. I just had dropped attach the speakers to my existing amplifier. The binding posts on the speakers do not have banana jacks. The thumb screws tighten directly over the incoming wires. Jumpes may be removed to allow woofers and tweeters to be attached to separate amplifiers but that probably isn’t worth doing on compact speakers such as these.Sound quality is pretty good. There seems to be a little emphasis towards the bass end of then sound spectrum. I like to add about 2 dB of emphasis above 2.5 KHz on my preamp to get the sound I like. Changing room position might help, but I am limited for space where I can put the speakers. Over all, I would say the speakers are pretty neutral snd should be good for listening to most types of program material. The sensitivity of the speakers is good and they can be turned up to louder thsn needed with a small amplifier. I have them attached to an older Adcom GFA-555 which puts out more than 100 Watts/channel. It might be a good idea to use an in-line fuse holder with a 3.5 amp fast blow fuse in series with the speaker to help prevent damage to the tweeter in case the amp overloads, for example an input comes loose and picks up loud AC hum.Over all these are pretty solid performing well made speakers and a good value for the money. The speakers should last a long time as long as they are protected from overloads with would subject them to over 100 Watts. There is a newer generation of this model, but it costs more. This model still satisfactory.

Incredible Sound, appearance and quality!

In my personal opinion this Klipsch RP-600M, has a wonderful sound. I payed some records, jazz, pop and rock, felt better on Jazz. I compare to a Klipsch R-60M, for me the 600 sound better, bass is ‘punchy” a mid volume and treble. I’m very excited with my new pair speakers. I know these are old design and may be to be discontinued. So hurry, if you can reach and buy at the affordable price so far…, don’t waste time while last! Very impressive the mix of sound; brass, piano, guitars, sax the percussion. The 60M sound very impressive too, but the response between each one’s are noticeably different. So I’ll try my entire collection and digital music.Highly recommended.Don’t disappoint my taste for good sound of music.

Klipsch RP600M II

So after reading and watching the many reviews on YouTube, e.g. Audiophiles, CheapAudioMan, etc. I was intrigued. I have several high end systems and needed a small pair of bookshelves for my bedroom. The system consists of a small tube amp at 6w per channel and a separate DAC. I do not want to list the brands, as this is about the Speakers. Long story short, I am very impressed. The 6W with the high efficiency is enough to fill the room with lovely dynamic sound. My genre is mostly female vocals, rock, indie, and some heavy metal. Dead Sara, Stephanie Hatzikolis, Freya Ridings, and Meg Myers, to list a few. So it covers the gamut of styles. The speakers are airy and has a nice top end without being harsh as horns can be. The bass was very nice and articulate for such a small speaker. I do not feel I need a sub for such a small room. It's about 10 by 12. So not huge. If running in a larger room, I would think you could benefit from the use of sub but for my needs it's just fine. For grins I ran the speakers on my reference system with is a high current, high output system. They sounded even better. I ran them about three feet into the room, they were about 6 inches from the wall in my bedroom. They really opened up, so I think the better your system, or system synergy, the better they perform so depends on what you are trying to achieve I suppose. Overall, five stars for value to performance. If you want concert level output, go with towers. But if you just want amazing sound quality at a good value, these will more than suffice. These would be considered an excellent entry level audiophile speaker in my opinion. The imaging is amazing, sound stage is a but lacking as far as depth but that was improved with my outboard DAC. Not perfect, but wow, for the money! Pull the trigger! Also, if it's not your cup of tea, they would be easy to sell and recoup the majority if not all of your money, or just return them. Worth your time I think!

Big bookshelves

Still in there infancy. I heard about a dip in the efficiency of these speakers on YouTube, if you run Dirac live even the version that comes with avr’s, it takes care of that dip. They are large for bookshelf speakers. Bass is ok, you will still need a subwoofer for sufficient bass. They aren’t bright sounding for Klipsch. I happen to be a Klipsch fan, with surrounds and 2 heights from them. If you’re looking for great sound for less than $400, you can’t go wrong with the Klipsch RP-600m’s.
