Gold Bond All Cotton Futon Mattress Size: Full, Thickness: 4"

Well... Ok so I bought this mattress a LONG time ago, I can't even remember when now. I have an old fashioned futon, trifolds into a couch or flat on the ground as a bed, made of wood, not walmart style or anything. But I needed a new mattress, so I looked far and wide on Amazon an other places, and got this one. It sat in my storage unit and other storage places, unopened, in it's plastic, for a LONG time. Then FINALLY I had the room and time to set up my futon again, decided to use it as a bed because the one I had hurt my back or so I thought. Set up mattress, all good, lay down, and WOW. DAMN. This mattress is HARD. FIRM. If you like a SERIOUSLY firm mattress, this might be your ticket to heaven! But if you're like me and need squishing room and softness, you will NOT be pleased. It's very heavy for me to move, but I'm not too strong. the material is strong, no problems there. I still have the mattress because I'm going to try it out as a couch someday, but as a bed? only as a last resort. And I might prefer a hammock instead. Far too firm. A good mattress to be sure, but I wish I had known if it was soft or firm. It's firm. Be warned.

We purchased a weird futon frame (it's like a big adjustable Adirondack chair) and we needed a mattress to use with it. We gave it a test-run with the mattress from our regular futon, and it kept sliding off. The thickness and the springs inside made it impossible to use for this frame. So we found this mattress, and it works perfectly. The 4-inch thickness and flexibility allow it to rest perfectly in the frame, and it stays put.The construction of the mattress appears to be solid, it smells fine, and it's about as comfortable as you could reasonably expect a 4-inch cotton-stuffed mattress to be.

Love it, faint new canvass odor but no chemical smell. Good and thick, comply but firm. I fall asleep on it easy and it is perfect for my small daughter. If it gets flattened out we just roll it and give it a shake and it puffs up like a futon should

Feels every boards and gaps when the futon is in bed form....

There is strong chemical smell from this mattress. The smell did not go away after I put it in the open area for a day. The smell comes from the cotton inside.

Worst mattress ever I got, Quality is very cheap and cotton is not used properly as per the size of the mattress.You can easily find the soft spots where filling is missing and comfort level is -10 at the scale of 0 to 10.

I'm 150lbs and I find that it is comfortable. It's firm yet soft, it's not something you would want to jump onto. That would hurt.

Save your back. Get a thicker futon.
