This is the good stuff, arguably the most potent OTC cognitive enhancer currently backed with sound research. A lot of products I have tried have either been entirely bogus or at excessively low doses for optimal effect, but I can already tell Bulk Supplements delivers the authentic goods. A note to new users: Some people see an immediate benefit, but it can take time for others. Like many similar supplements, you are likely to see optimal results after 3-5 weeks of daily use. This product sold in this form is incredibly cost effective though, with an average of 1-2 years of recommended dosage in the 10 gram size. I plan to seek other supplements through Bulk Supplements of the sort of supplements that are particularly prone to being fake on the shelf (including most of the better known brands, in my experience). Don't forget your milligram scales; the dosage is quite tiny to the point of being impossible to accurately eyeball.

Don't buy this product in loose powder form. I accidentally measured out 150 mg instead of a 15 mg dose and the result was diarrhea and violent vomiting for six hours. You need a very accurate milligram scale. The powder is very fine and its hard to measure out the small dose. The effects of an overdose are very powerful. If you want to try Huperzine A, I recommend you get it in premeasured capsules.

I was so impressed with the high quality of my first Bulk Supplement purchase (DMAE) that I keep ordering more I believe I have ordered a total of five products from them now and plan on ordering a couple of more. I have heard complaints about some of the zip lock seals not working on some of the products. I had that problem with one product. The product was a very fine powder and it embedded in the zip lock seal. I just took a tack (pin, needle, whatever) and ran it inside the zip lock seal to clean it out. The bag seals perfectly now. This product is a fine powder and it is actually packaged in a smaller zip lock bag inside the bigger one. No problems with the seal on this one. They also have a huge array of supplements they carry. As a side note, I have had a couple of questions on some products. I can say that I have received very good customer service from Bulk Supplements. I plan on doing business with them for a long time.

Huperzine-A is an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor, which means it stops the relevant enzymes from degrading acetylcholine, so that we have more of it in circulation. Used in Alzheimer's for this reason, and supposed to help with lucid dreaming as well. That said, organophosphate pesticides also work by (irreversible) acetylcholinesterase inhibition. I have reason to believe that my system is in general a "choline hog." I had been taking choline along with some huperzine-A tablets for a while with no great effects, but when I received this stuff I had an intense experience of rampant undegraded choline. The dosage is very small, and I took a small dose. But I had, essentially, a small version of organophosphate poisoning for a whole night and into the next two days. Acetylcholine governs the parasympathetic response, so think all the parasympathetic activities--massive salivation, diarrhea, only not vomiting with supreme effort, slowed heart rate... as well as extreme muscle cramps, hallucinations, muscular weakness, slurred speech, and extreme fatigue. If I hadn't understood exactly what was going on, I might have been scared. Huperzine-A has a fairly long half life (12+ hours), so this went on for a long time. The best I could do was stay under the covers and try not to move at all. I was sure that the choline+huperzine A combination was what did me in (when I thought it would make me feel great)! So less than a week later, I tried it again. This time, I took a much lower dose of huperzine-A, no choline, and I took a small amount of anticholinergic (cheap diphenhydramine) to inhibit any excess circulating choline. Long story short, this time I got really sick again, maybe marginally less bad but only marginally; just that it was a delayed onset (perhaps protected by the diphenhydramine initially). It's possible that I affected my receptors in a negative way with the first "trip" and that this is why it was bad the second time. It should also be said that I have a history of odd or paradoxical responses to herbs and supplements (although up to now I thought this was just with GABA-ergic and endorphin-impactng substances). So it may not affect others the same way. But at this point, I don't want to try huperzine-A again for a LONG time!! Once again, those huperzine-A tablets (which weren't cheap) did absolutely squat, so you can be sure that this is the real deal.

Buyer warning. This will have you laid up all day throwing up if you take too much, and it's easy to do.

I add a dusting to my morning coffee because it is water soluble and the dosing is extremly small. I don't do this every day. I am actually afraid to. The first time I gave this a try, I noticed a change within a couple days. It seems I am able to make associations that I haven't been able to make for years, and it comes intuitively. It is extremely easy to overdose. I have accidentally done this once. A little chunk fell in. I had to lie down the rest of the day, ended up throwing up, not fun. But just don't do that. Edit: I have found mixing the tip of a spoonful into a mix of other herps for capsul fill eliminates the risk of overdosing.

This product is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS and THERE IS NO WARNING ON THE PACKAGE. I took what I believed was just 15 mg, as stated on the package, and within minutes my body became paralyzed. I couldn’t breathe or move, my heart rate dropped, and my vision blurred. I truly thought I was dying—one of the most terrifying experiences of my life. My son rushed me to the ER, where I spent two days fighting for my life. PLEASE BE CAREFUL IF YOU BUY THIS PRODUCT. I’m giving one star only because negative stars aren’t allowed.
