18 in. Clear Acrylic Globe - with 8 in. Neckless Opening - American 3202-18020-017

I purchased this globe to construct a prop for "Little Shop of Horrors", the dentist's special gas mask. It is the perfect size for an adult or high schooler. I needed to enlarge the neck opening by removing a 1" strip around the opening, making the neck opening effectively 10". Holes must be drilled for ventilation, but are essentially invisible if done along the bottom (neck ring area), and you will need to create a small grid of holes opposite each ear if you want your actor to hear the music. Adding the holes also reduces the internal sound level heard by the actor. It can be quite loud inside the globe with just the actor's own voice if no vent holes are provided.The globe was delivered perfectly, well packed, no scratches, perfectly clear and very sturdy. If you drill SLOWLY, you can get perfect holes.Highly recommended for anyone seeking this type of globe at a great price.

Product was great for what I needed it for. The only thing is its not a perfect bubble; it has what I call a belly button, probably where the acrylic was spun from to make the Globe. I just removed its belly button from photos during post so it's no biggie.

This is great for what I wanted it for a Snow Globe Winter Wonderland Centerpiece, the only thing I wish it had been 10 inches, I have been attempting to cut off the 2 inches as of today it has taken about three week to cut it. It is very will made.

Used it not for lighting but for costuming and it was perfect! Opening was a great size to fit over the head. Quality and lightness of it was fantastic

VERY happy with this purchase!! I had been back and forth with the design of my Fantasia™ 'Cosmos' fiber optic creation and had intended on using two identical half spheres, until I found this! I was slightly concerned with thickness for my.purposes, but turns out, it's perfect!Globe came very well packaged with a loose plastic protective covering to maintain clarity during shipping. IPS Weld On 3 solvent worked perfectly on this acrylic, which is what i needed for a 100% invisable bond.Respectful disclosure: Fantasia™ fiber optic lamps we're all the rage back in the 60s & 70s and rightfully so. These were the 'seeds' for every kitchy fiber optic item Spencer's Gifts ever sold. LOL. Except Fantasia™ products were high quality, made to last items. Fiber optics we're spun glass tubes. Not the plastic you would have seen in anything from Spencer's .(Harriet Carter? Lol). And they put out some of the most beautiful, mesmerizing creations to ever come out of the mid century!The lamp I made, my reason for purchasing this globe, was the Mac daddy of ALL Fantasia™ FO lamps. There were many different models (Sunburst 4000, Alpha, Firefly, Celestial.....etc. Look em up!!) But the Cosmos was the end all. One can still find the smaller lamps (above mentioned) on eBay now and again but they're gonna cost ya!! And then glass spray's(the fiber optic 'hairs') are almost never intact and if they are, hope they're clean as they're too fragile to clense being 70 yrs old!But ya never see Cosmos ! I've NEVER seen one for sale and I've been looking for 20 years.So I made my own!!! (Even found an awesome German company that still manufactures glass spray's!)So little.late for a long story short , but this acrylic globe was.one of the best buys of the year for me! Lol. And I'm THRILLED with the clarity and quality!!(Flange was incorporated around the outside of globe for stand stability. Globe is one solid unit)

This globe was used to make a prop for our play, it worked great!

Will work really good as a terrarium for small plants and mini orchids.
