Use the USB cable!!
I was about to return this thing, since it did not appear to work at all on the several screens and cables I tried it on. After reading through the product listing a little bit closer, I realized that the USB cable that came with the adapter was to provide power - this cable is REQUIRED for the adapter to work. This cable connects to the side of the adapter through a micro USB interface, and connects to the power source (most likely your computer) via USB. Luckily, I have a USB outlet close to my VGA. I have tried it a few times now, with the USB cable, and it has worked everytime. I do wish that they would include some instructions with the adapter, or maybe update the pictures in the listing, to show the cable attached. Keep in mind that in order to use your computer to provide power, you must have USB output near your VGA!

WASTED MONEY
Converter did not work at all ! NOTHING - ZERO- NADA !JUNK ? ? But it did not convert my VGA Dell output to my input on my HDMI screen !So now to find my old VGA monitor to check things out. If it works the unit itself is faulty of incapable of the converting I wished it to do. Either way- I am out the money for it ! Anyone want to buy it from me cheap ? ? ?

Exactly what I needed
After long search i found this product. which work really well when you have to convert VGA signal to HDMI. Recommend for application when you have VGA display output to HDMI display Screen input. you can use when you have only HDMI input port for TV screen.

Savior!
This proved to be the only way to connect my server to a flatscreen! Highly recommend!And don’t forget to plug that usb cable - it powers the circuitry!

Lightweight yet durable
Unlike most similar products, this does not have a cord, making it easier to carry with my laptop. It is small and lightweight, yet plenty durable, as long as you don't step on it.
