Good
Writes a bit scratchy in the beginning but works wonderfully after a week or so. I'm having trouble with the converter as I have to push the converter level further as soon as the ink gets consumed beyond a certain level. But this pen is good nevertheless. Especially recommendable for persons with fancy handwriting and signatures.

On eof the better ones I have
Mine came from PenPlace. Out of eight fountain pens I bought this year, this ranks up there at #2.First I don't know WHY "ball" is in the description title. It IS a fountain pen. You cannot convert it to a rollerball. The nib is smooth right out of the box. I could not use it right away because the "included" cartridge converter was not included. A simple message to Pen Place and it was shipped the same day. Monteverde takes a screw-in converter. Although I had some non screw in, I didn't want to tempt a mess.Although it doesn't affect the pen, the box had several stickers that appeared to be manufacturer, removed and covered with another. Then the Amazon stickers. Removal of any of them leaves a totally sticky mess. (I wish Amazon stickers were more removable. The technology is here.) It comes in a very nice box that otherwise would be good as a gift box.The pen writes well AND seals very well to keep the nib from drying out.Using it with the cap posted or not is comfortable. Much more so than my Pelikan 200.Most fountain pen users have more than one, so I would recommend this is part of your cache.

Great, smooth pen
I got this as my first fountain pen and I've been very satisfied with it so far. It's a big plus that it comes with a converter. The ink that it came with (in the cartridges) didn't seem too great. I got a bottle of noodler's ink and it seems to flow much better now. I've also been able to adjust the flow quite a bit to fine tune it to my liking just by applying pressure to the nib--pushing down on the bottom side to increase flow and on the top side to decrease ink flow. the weight of the pen is also great (with and without the cap) and it is comfortable to hold. the metal body is also a plus. I got this pen for a steal ($30) and i don't think it's that cheap anymore, but it's still a great pen. I don't know much about other pens in this price range, but i would recommend this one. I wanted a pen that would write smoother than pilot g-2's and v5's and that's what i got.

Good pen
This is a good solid pen. I love pens and bought this to add to my collection. Writes well and the nip could be finer but I love it. The price was right and shipping was good.
