Fun, Well Paced and Balanced Plus Broadway!
This game was a ton of fun for my broadway loving family. It's really well paced, even on a first game still learning the rules we spent less than 2 hours. There were plenty of moments where we had to stop and do a challenge or sing, and the game mechanics seem well thought out, even if you aren't lucky enough to build a great resume of shows you can still win the day on fans and money... and everyone gets to finish with a flourish...Based on the first run through I expect there to be good replayability especially if you mix up the players you game with. Happy with this purchase and excited to play again!

Fun for the whole family
This game exceeded my expectations! Our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 girls, age 14 and 12) laughed and enjoyed this game so much. It reminds me of the game of Life, except your life is going on Auditions and sometimes having a job and sometimes not. This game is very easy to learn, and probably is more fun if at least someone in the group enjoys musicals. If no one does, why would you buy a game of this name anyway!? Even if you aren't into Broadway musicals, you can play this, but the fun is having to sing a line from some of the musicals to get to "roll again." So, you get some extra perks for being familiar with Broadway shows. We did laugh extra hard as every time someone got an Audition, we would yell "Audition" in the tone of "Tradition" from Fiddler on the Roof. I don't believe Hamilton is in here, but Wicked, the Music Man, Hairspray, My Fair Lady, Les Mis and others are included as references. All in all, the non-musical lovers had more fun than I think they anticipated, and the musical lovers really enjoyed playing it. Lots of room for being silly and showing of your musical theater skills if you choose to (by choosing to, you get extra rewards).

A Great Evening for Theater Fans
Even if you only play it once, Be A Broadway Star is a worthwhile purchase, because for under 30 bucks, it's a very fun evening for a theater-loving family or a group of theater fans. Our family runs the gamut from the theater-obsessed to those who've just been dragged along occasionally, and we all had a great time playing this game. There's enough luck involved that those with lower "Broadway IQ" won't feel like they're at a hopeless disadvantage. The game isn't too complicated once you figure it out, but it only gets 4 stars because figuring it out takes a little time and concentration. There are just a lot of elements of the game to figure out -- steps and cards and things to keep track of. You need at least one person in your group willing to study the rules and figure it out, then everything will go smoothly. How much "Broadway IQ" do you need to play it? Well, if you haven't seen some of the greatest hits of all time, then you might feel a little helpless. You can move forward and succeed -- and even win a Tony Award or two -- without knowing everything (knowledge-based questions are balanced by challenges that require nothing more than the willingness you to embarrass yourself), but it helps to be able to recall a line or two from ANY song from the biggest shows, such as Cabaret, Oklahoma, Sound of Music, The Lion King, Les Miz, etc. To win the game, you'll likely once have to recall a line from a specific character from a specific show. If that sounds impossible, don't worry. You might get several repeat chances.

A must have if you're a Broadway fan!
Bought this game for my daughter for Christmas. It was a fun surprise gift because she had never heard of it. Can't even put into words how much fun we had playing this game! Loved it so much I bought one for her high school drama teacher for their classroom. If you love Broadway and listen to show tunes, this game is a must have. If you can count on one hand the number of musicals you've seen, you can still play it and have fun, but not as much fun. There are cards where you have to act out a death scene or make an entrance as a villain (evil laugh required). Perform a skill that no one else can do or pitch a Broadway musical about your life. It's not all about singing and dancing so anyone can play and have fun even if they can't sing every word of Les Miz.As you play, you earn fan cards - the person with the most fans wins the game. The other great thing about this game is that it doesn't take skill - just a good sense of humor. Kids and adults can play together on the same level. My kids are 16 and 11 - they love it and their theater friends do too.I have to brag on the company who made this game. My game arrived damaged and it was a week from Christmas. This was THE gift, if you know what I mean - the gift that would make my teenager scream with joy. Well, they made sure I had a brand new game in my hand before Christmas. Talk about great customer service! The developer called me personally and was so pleasant to work with. I highly recommend this game!

Fun family game!
This is a really fun game for everyone! You can play this wether you are the biggest Broadway fan in history, or someone who just know a show or two and still enjoy it! No skill is really needed to win the game as the winner is the one who collects the most fans, which you gain from fan cards worth 25, 50 or a 100 and your money is converted to fans when the game is over.Played it once where one player almost gave up and wanted to quit the game as "there was no way anyone could ever beat me" as my stack of fan cards was double the size of everyone else's. In the end I lost big time and the other player won by a lot! So you never know until the game is over!
