The full-bodied and powerful tone of this Guild dreadnought provides guitarists with a classic acoustic sound and balanced voicing. Built with a solid Sitka spruce top and solid African mahogany back and sides, the D-140CE also features an elegant cutaway for access to higher frets, and a hidden Fishman Sonitone pickup. Additional features include an Indian rosewood fingerboard and bridge, bone nut and saddle, and period-correct tortoiseshell pickguard. A mother-of-pearl rosette and Guild's iconic Chesterfield headstock emblem reminiscent of 1960s models complete the package. The D-140CE includes Guild's new lightweight case and is available in Natural or Sunburst gloss finish.

Fingerstyle Heaven
If you are looking for a guitar that won't break the bank and love playing fingerstyle, this should be your guitar. The action is low (but no so low to create fret-buzzing) and chording is a pain-free non-event for your chording fingers. It only takes a light touch to press the strings to make chords. Equally impressive is the very light finger-touch on the strings when playing the chords. The tone of this guitar is beautiful with impressive bass and treble, with the emphasis on a balanced tone. As long as you don't dig in hard when you do flat-picking, you won't have any fret-buzzing. There's actually any reason to have to dig in, since a light stroke of the flat-pick results in plenty of volume, especially when plugged in to an amplifier or PA system. This is my third Guild guitar (the first being a D-55 I bought new in 1975 and a F-512 I bought new in 2011....I still have both guitars). Love, love, love Guild guitars and highly recommend the brand to anyone looking for a quality instrument at very reasonable prices when compared to Martin, Taylor and Gibson. There are USA-made Guild guitars and Asian-made Guild guitars. There's no need to be concerned about getting a high quality, well-built guitar, whether it's USA-made or Asian-made. Guild guitar quality, as a brand, is second to none. Go to your local music store and play a Guild guitar. You might just find a new favorite brand of guitar. Guild guitars are made to be played.
