Great Biography
This is a very good biography on the life of Christ. While it addresses theological issues, that is not the aim. It is written for the unbeliever/young believer who desires to learn more about Jesus. As always, Swindoll uses his wealth of knowledge and thorough command of the English language to paint a beautiful picture.

Book of Jesus
I’m not much of a reader, it once I started reading this book, I made it an every challenge to pick it up and read. You’ll get lost in the book, meaning, the author puts you right on the scene. The 18th chapter brought hills to my spine and tears to my eyes.Enjoy

Simply Amazing!
The story of Jesus for me was far more than just historical facts, but a personal connection allowing me to further understand and appreciate all that my Savior endured because He loves me. I only hope through my obedience and His Holy Spirit within me, that I can become all that He created for me to be before the beginning of time. Thank you Dr. Swindoll for another amazing read, you are truly gifted with God’s word and Spirit.

This book helped increase my faith
If you want to understand who Jesus is and read about his life, this is the perfect book. I love the weaving of story with Bible passages. Mr. Swindoll puts you in the middle of an event in Jesus' ministry allowing you to be immersed in that moment. It's very eye opening. I would warn you about the chapters in part 3 that deal with Jesus torture and crucifixion. Experts testify to the process of crucifixion beyond any of my previous understanding. I had to read these parts in very small segments. There is a wonderful prayer at the end of the book that I have written out and recited multiple times. I know as I continue studying Matthew, that this book will help me understand more of the gospel.

Fantastic
I read Esther written by Mr. Swindoll, and loved it, so I thought I would give this one a try. I was not disappointed with this one either. Mr. Swindoll is so knowledgeable about the people in the Bible, that he draws you in from the start and you are captivated with them until the very end of his books. I know much about Jesus, about His life. This book taught me some interesting facts I was not aware of. If you are considering getting this book, you should it won't disappoint. I am going to read David next by Mr. Swindoll, I know I will enjoy that one also.

A well written biography
Never sure whether to post Christian literature on a book club page, but in a period of time when we are encouraged to embrace the beliefs and ideals of various different groups I don't see the difference of posting the beliefs of the Christian faith.Charles 'Chuck' Swindoll is a respected preacher, pastor and teacher. Over the years he has published a 'Great Lives' series of nine, which includes this one of 'Jesus'.It is a well written exposition of Jesus' life and it examines his birth, life and death in the same way any biography examines any life.A good book. 4/5

Jesus as you've never known him
Charles Swindoll tries to stay as close to facts as is possible with a study 2000 years old. A lot of in-depth research has been undertaken to put this book together. Plenty of surprising information about the man many think of as the Son of God, and his kin. Charles Swindoll's writing style is engaging throughout. A very interesting and educational read.

Not surprised
I've read a previous book from Swindoll (the one on David) and found it helpful and inspiring. This one is better still. A fresh perspective, years of experience, sound theology and historical facts combined with a well written and provocative style make this a gem. It's also unusual in that there is little repetition! There is no question that this book is informative and has helped me grow spiritually. I highly recommend it and am using it to disciple other men.

The book is a great companion to the Bible
Powerfully portrays who Christ is and what it went through for humanity. Comprehensive illustrations from biblical perspective but written so you can feel that Jesus was a real man with real feelings who went through unspeakable, horrific pain so we can have eternal life.
