Facon de Parler 1 French for Beginners: Activity Book 5ED 5th Edition

I bought this book for my conversational French class. We have been working through it slowly along with the practice book and other adjunct activities. The book is easy to use and covers all the kinds of things you would like to be able to talk about when visiting France...greetings, taking the train, ordering food, buying clothes and food, body parts, talking to a doctor, pharmacist, taxi driver.

the actual user of the book is jean staneslow, not paul. i expected that the text book would be more closely linked to the workbook, which i already had. i still find it helpful. i have not yet tried the cd that comes with the textbook, so i cannot rate that.i would buy it again if i needed another copy for some reason.

This is a text book and meets the objective of the class. The delivery is the issue. The book was place on the lobby table which does not comply with the directions.

May be a little difficult for self-learning, but a great beginners' course for class with a teacher. Material is varied and authentic with plenty of listening. Highly recommended for adult learners.

From a teacher's perspective this is a great supplement to the course book. Highly recommended.

Received book, no CDs as described in advertisement.

Bought the kindle edition as the blurb said that the sound element would work with my kindle, sadly, on receipt, I found it didn't. So I have the book, but no way to listen. A big disappointment. So, if you want the input, buy the book with the CDs and don't bother with the kindle edition.

The only reaaon why i bought this ebook was to be able to hear the recordings on my phone... but i simply cannot get it to work... my phone is fairly new but when i click on the bit that should 'play' it says its not supported - or similar. Terribly frustrating! Has anyone been able to use or even find the purported language app - that the cover boasts?As an aside I think that the lay out is useless, it is very higgledypiggledy - & I have done various other adult education classes & therefore know the general style & calibre of book. Useless useless book!And if anyone can help me with the language app bit I would appreciate it. The phone number in the front of the book is unavailable & I haven't had any joy yet with Hodder & Co.... the publishers.... Avoid the book like the plague!

The audio is muffled and really bad quality. Well, that was when I could open the item on my iPad as now, about a week after buying the digital version of this book, each time I open it in the kindle app it's making the app to immediately close. I've got other books on the app which I can open and read without any problem so it looks like this item is the problem. Anyway I cannot use it. :(

This relates to version using Kindle App on iPad. It crashes all the time and is unusable. Other books on my iPad/Kindle App are working. I have tried all the usual things, contacted the publishers and also Amazon. No success. Such a shame as I wanted to use it when travelling to save weight.

I bought this book on Sunday and on Tuesday morning I had it at home. Less than 48 hours! So delivery is great. And the book as well. I am studying french by myself, and I can do it with this book. Is not boring, it has a lot of different exercices to practice the vocabulary, grammar and expressions... And the CDs are really usefull too. And the pack has a little white book with the solutions for all the exercices, so I can do them and check it if I did right.I am very demanding with this kind of books, because I am teacher of foreign languages and I know what I need to learn, but this one has my best mark.
