The Most Underrated ACOG
There is something good to be said about a simple duplex crosshair. It is a fast and intuitive sight with a very short learning curve. It is forgiving under stress. ACOG properties only enhance this scope's usability. The small illuminated portion acts like a red dot sight when speed is required. The 3.6" of eye relief is beyond generous, and the eye-box is similarly long. I believe the smaller field of view, compared to the 1.5x16 TA44 helps when you keep both eyes open. The 1.5x magnification is enough to recognize an 8 inch gong at 300 yards, and the crosshairs won't obscure it. If you use a weapon light, the instant of illumination with temporarily wash out the fine crosshairs and center illumination, but the thicker part of duplex stand out sharply, giving you an aiming reference while your eyes adjust.Attached to a fixed carry handle of a 16" AR-15, and zeroed at 50 yards, the trajectory of M193 bullet should be +/- 3.5 inches from point blank range out to 350 yards. This scope is plenty good enough for me. It gets the job done with little fuss.

The best all around Acog
to me. The reticle is so precise and clear it's incredible. No loss of reticle you get with other Acog's when it's bright out because the crosshairs are etched in so if the illumination disappears the crosshairs fine line are still there. At 1.5x24 it's clear and fast on target in the distances most action happens at. The higher powers are nice for longer range shots, but most shots whether in a fight or hunting are within a 100 yards on average. What would you rather have, a scope better for shots you have less of, or a scope better for shots you have the most? I know my choice.
