Shoe Insole Diversion Safe - Men's Sizes 8-12 - One Pair

I bought this a few months back and made use of it through the following month in my sneakers. I wanna start by saying that for the most part, everything seems to more or less work as advertised, but there is definitely some room for improvement and I hope maybe this review might point out some flaws so they can be fixed or the price adjusted accordingly.My purchase came with two soles both of which have space for one of the little plastic containers and the associated container. The first immediate flaw that became apparent was the method by which the container opens. It slides open and because of this, there can be issues getting it to open and close along the track properly if the container is too full, or if it (the plastic container) becomes in almost any way deformed over time. That said, I was able to utilize the container as intended until they broke a few weeks down the road. Why did they break? Well, this leads me to perhaps the largest and most pressing criticism of the design. First, let's get out of the way the following: I am admittedly a big guy. I'm about 6'2, weigh about 260 lbs., give or take ten to twenty either direction at various points, and I wear a size 13EEE shoe (though I can usually squeeze into a 12 1/2 EEE, or sometimes if I'm lucky even an 12 1/2 EE, though not often). It is obvious that I would be putting a lot of pressure on the plastic. Because of the pocket which affords its use, the middle part of the plastic lid to the inserted container is not at all well enough supported. Pills placed into the container were crushed semi-slowly over time, necessitating that I put them into a bag. If the lid was even slightly misaligned, a very, and to be fair it was VERY slight noise could be heard coming from the shoe which differed from normal. Even sometimes when it was perfectly aligned, I could detect a slight noise. I forget exactly what was causing this but I suspect it is in some part the stress being put on the plastic. The middle area of the lid needs much more support but I understand it would be tricky to do so potentially without further limiting the already pretty limited available space within. Eventually, these lids -- both -- did crack, split and break. Just the lids broke however, and even without the containers I was able to successfully utilize the pocket in the sole itself which still existed. That's ultimately the good news. Ya still get something useful, even without the containers, in my opinion.All this being said, I would give the shoe soles a solid four stars, and the plastic containers themselves one and a half. I'm averaging that out together as three stars and I want to encourage the maker of this product, if by sheer chance they should happen upon this review, to attempt to improve or fix the product in this areas I've mentioned above. If it becomes apparent that it is not practical to fix, or is cost prohibitive or some such impediment, I would recommend further adjusting down the price by about two to three dollars or so. Fifteen isn't a terribly price, but I think $12 is truly fair.Hope this helps!Jim

While I like the idea of hiding your cash in your shoe, the fact is that the hard plastic of this "safe" makes it uncomfortable to wear for more than a few minutes. I have a leg problem which requires me to wear a Dr. Scholls air sole insert in my left shoe to begin with. I thought that I could simply replace my current insert with this one, but it's considerably stiffer than the air sole, and so I couldn't use it. What they need to do is re-design this so that it's as comfortable as it is effective. Liked this so much I just ordered a second pair.I read some reviews claiming this was uncomfortable to walk on after some time. I didn’t have any discomfort with this product.

The soles of the shoes did not hold up well and caused the contents to be crushed into a powder and useless for actual medication dosages
