Like others had stated, paint inside the holes make it really hard to start the threads on the screws. Tap and die set will be easiest but I just carefully scraped away some of the paint and slowly pre-threaded the screws. A couple of the holes on one of the hinges didn’t line up so that was a real struggle. After install, I still get an ample amount of rattle on my trunk which is what quickly destroyed the original latch. I ordered the black which does look much better on my Vulcan custom than the chrome. That being said, I guess you get what you pay for but I refuse to pay any higher for what little you get. I don’t expect this latch to last very long especially since my bike isn’t garage kept but we shall see.

Very easy to install and worked excellent Worked better than original

The original hinges were starting to get loose and rattle, and the latch wasn't staying locked, so I needed to replace them. This set looks great and seems to be working fine. My only complaint is the included hardware was useless. Wrong length so I reused the screws from the original set without issue.

Have a tap available to chase the threads, they will need it. The factory lock will transfer over with no problem. Good set at a great price.

I’m writing this review after 4 months. The latch was great for a couple of weeks, then started to loosen when closed. It would have to be pushed back on to the bar after closing to be completely shut. After a few more weeks the problem got worse. Now it is not usable at all. When going down the road the latch comes off of the bar enough to allow the tour pack to open. I should have spent the money on a Harley or advanblack versión to begin with. It’s too bad because the product looked great and seemed to be of good quality, turned out to be a waste of 60 bucks. I gave it two stars because it looked good, but there’s no longevity for the money spent.
