61 Gems on Highway 61: A Guide to Minnesota's North Shore-from Well Known Attractions to Best Kept Secrets Paperback – June 5, 2009

If the title sounds familiar it's becuase Bob Dylan wrote a song about it, maybe even an album. Very helpful as a tour guide for an upcoming trip around Lake Superior this summer.

I ordered this book because I thought it would help us find interesting places to go and see while on the North Shore Drive .... and it did not disappoint! We would never have known about some of the gems along the north shore of Lake Superior if we didn't have this book. I HIGHLY recommend if you enjoy seeing beauty and learning history when traveling! It's a great "GEM" of a book!!

Is better then expected lots of places I didn't know about

This book is the best tool to make you trips up to the north shore the best ever. Its a must have!!!

Very thoughtful and insightful guide to the Minnesota Lake Superior North Shore.I can't imagine anyone not wanting to learn about local gems like this, but I'm glad more people are content to just visit the same-old-same-old.Books like this from small, local individual authors are gems in their own rights sharing the accumulated knowledge of their experiences and I find this to be invaluable information for those who are actually interested in finding gems. If you're not... just move along. Nothing to see here. Smaller crowds for those of us who are. J

We used this book on our honeymoon along Minnesota’s north shore. We stopped a lot of the gems thanks to this book. The amount of information about each Gem is perfect. “How to get there”, “About the Gem”. Overall, we really enjoyed this book and we plan to use it again.
