Such Fun!
These are lovely blue and white rice pattern dishes, with dragons! The plates are small for dinner, wish they had a larger size as well, but we have these plates and the shallow bowls also sold by amazon, plus the teapot and cups, and we have chinese lunch with the grandkids with these for fun (or just us, really!). I saw the reivew about San Francisco on another post about the small bowls - California is SCARY strict, if they had lead then it would have been posted in HUGE Signs with yellow warning triangles in San Fran - must head down to the bay soon and find the bowls! These are inexpensive dishes so don't expect great china and you won't be disappointed. The pattern is a bit vague - maybe by design? - the dishes are smooth, translucent with the transparent rice patterning and the glazing complete, and they have survived the dishwasher just fine. For the price, you can enjoy feeling "oriental for a day" - call them "dress up" dishes? We are really enjoying them.

Too small for Dinner Plates
We were looking to replace broken plates for our set of White Porcelain Blue Dragon plates but the ones we have are 9" plates and these are only 8" so be sure that is the size you want. They are just as nice as the set I bought at Pier One a few years back.

I love these plates.
We use these plates for our lunches, mostly. I made my husband buy two sets of four because the ones I had on hand he chipped so badly I couldn't stand it. So since I bought all of these plates he hasn't chipped a single one! He washes all the dishes (when he's not working) so I think he has learned to be a lot more careful since I told him I could not stand chips in my dishes and even if there is a little tiny one I will throw the dang thing away.

will not buy this item again
I ordered these plates, the blue color is so pale and faded. It also chips very easily, I can not return these items because they are so heavy and I will have to pay a lot in shipping. So I'm using them as saucer for my flower pots outside. Not even fit to put food/seeds for the birds because it might contain lead, don't want to poison the poor creatures.

Eye catching colors and pattern
I have a set of 12 of these. We enjoy them very much. The porcelain quality is not high value , so use them and have fun with them. The colors are really eye catching. The glaze is of a high quality that gives the plates the shine you would expect to see. There is no bubbling or unevenness in the porcelain ware. And the blue is a very eye catching color. Between the outside blue band and the next blue band, within the white portion are actual indentations in the porcelain that look like grains of rice. The fact that the rice patterns are actually indented really adds to the look giving the plates a higher quality look and appeal.I did not purchase my plates from Amazon. They are fun to eat a Chinese meal on just for fun. We even pile our take out Chinese on these plates which is even more fun, because then I get to enjoy them without having to cook and clean!I also have the rice spoons and rice bowls , they are of the same quality and just fun to use. All of the items do great in the dishwasher.

Blue Dragon set
I just purchased rice bowls that go with this set in China Town San Francisco, thought they were beautiful, and then discovered they may contain lead. I love the delicate design and the bowls seem well made, but I'm not sure if they are safe to eat from, does anyone know?
