Well acted suspense drama. The best of Wesley Snipes, Michael Wright, Theresa Randle and Clarence Williams III. Supporting cast was fabulous too. This is a must see classic.

Really cool movie, I was happy to find it for the price that I got it for ,not to mention the item came really fast the DVD was not damaged or cracked and very clear . I will most definitely shop with the seller again for movies..

Love to collect movies

After reading how the critics panned this movie I wonder if they watched it. The movie has a very dark yet thoughtful feel to it. If we understand that critics rarely have talent as actors or screenwriters we can see how this nice movie could be so underrated by them. Wesley Snipes plays his role with a warm compassion for those around him. Michael Wright does overact quite a bit but he probably had a few years to go to become a good actor. Clarence Williams III was superb as the father. Theresa Randle is very good as the girlfriend. I almost fell in love with her myself. She seemed like the perfect woman. The rest of the movie is straight gangster done by a black cast except for Abe Vigoda who played his part excellently.The opening scene and the scene about the mother and father is very good and sets up the whole movie. Especially the scene with the father and the thugs on the roof, which is fantastic. We understand so much about Roem's motives from that scene that we appreciate his later life and his rage toward the things which affect him later.I usually don't like movies which are from the nineties but this one stands out. It is worth watching.

This is an excellent film. Affordable price and shipped in perfect condition. This is a must see classic film. Great Cast and story line. I highly recommend.

Movie was good & sad. Mother Overdosed & kids blame dad. Two brothers in the game

A film that not only has impact but has grippingscenes. To watch the sensational splendour of the actorsgiving their best performance is awarding.However, this type of thriller expends so much energyfrom the beginning to the end trying to fight back theemotions in front of the TV.Certainly, the actors, writers and directorshipexude those moods.and feelings to keep it to fictional characters.So that more thrilling films etc can show what to avoid if in real life..

I had watched this movie when it first came out and purchased it again for nostalgia reasons, I was disappointed, the sound quality is quite poor and the over acting is shudderingly grimace. The ending could have been less predicable, be great to see this remastered or re-shot. I give it 3 stars, if Wesley was not the star, it would have been one star

Was recommended this by a friend and it was on amazon for very cheap. Watched it recently and enjoyed it. Sugar Hill didn't have me glued or gripped to my seat by any means but still a decent show. If you like your gangster flicks then give it a watch and Snipes puts in a respectable performance

Great cast great performances and it was good to see a couple of classic old school artists like Abe Vigoda and Clarence Williams III not to mention Theresa Randle so easy on the eyes and there was also a little touch of Jason,s Lyric about it as well, i,m sure anybody who has seen both films will know what I mean

I have had this on VIDEO that I taped from SKY years ago and couldn't bring myself to watch it any more and decided I wanted this on a disc......am so glad I made this purchase to add to my collection. Arrived nicely packaged.
