"SO OTHERS MAY LIVE"
PJ/s have always been the lesser know of Special Operations. This is a ten star book on what America will do to preserve life of a fellow man. For the few who can complete the two year "pipeline" to becoming a PJ it can be a high speed low drag life style. The SEALS are America's renowned naval commandos. Special Forces(Green Berets) The quiet professionals. Masters of unconventional warfare. Delta Force the Army's elite counter-terrorism experts. 75th Ranger regiment,Army Rangers lead the way.160th SOAR The Night Stalkers - On time anyplace , anytime +/- 30 seconds. Marine Force Recon- Elite Reconnaissance Marines who carry out deep reconnaissance operations. All of the above forces put fear into they strike. Now who do you call when you have a man down in really bad shape in a mine field or you have a vessel in high seas with a sick or injured crewman. The Air Force have a highly skilled small group of men.Pararescuemen, or Pararescue Jumpers (PJs), of AFSOC Special Tactics Squadrons and Air Combat Command Rescue Squadrons, are special operators tasked with retrieving personnel from hostile environments. A typical Pararescue mission would entail insertion by helicopter behind enemy lines in order to find, treat and extract friendly forces such as a downed pilot or wounded special operator. PJs train to jump into water from hovering helicopters. They can also insert by parachute. This is the Story of on Senior Master Sergeant William F. Sine, that did his whole carrier as PJ. You will learn what it take to become a PJ and what it take to stay on top of your game to save others. The injuries they are trained to treat would make so ER doctors cringe and then do this on a turbulent aircraft or almost alone in the middle of nowhere. SMSgt Sine also does a wonderful job of sharing exploits of fellow PJ's and it not all about him. I think is smart choice of the Air Force now higher retired PJ's to help in the training of the next generation of PJ's. It is not hard to see why PJ's fit into the Special Operations mold. Hats off to all PJ's were every you are for your commitment to saving a life. May your Guardian Angels always look after you now and forever.

If only he focused on rescues...
What PJs do is amazing! I just wish that the author had spent more time telling me about rescue missions. Too much of the book is consumed by what seems like a travel journal about the places he's been and a diary of drunken antics. The part about rescues is great, but so much of the book is a cross between a Rick Steve's travel book and a rerun of Animal House that it is not what I was looking for

Extraordinary book
Extraordinary sums it up. The book, SMSgt Sine, Pararescue - all extraordinary. Bill knows how to tell a story with detail, frankness and humor. Anyone who enjoys military books will will want this on the top of their must read list. Bill takes you inside the PJ's world from understanding thier training to the crazy sh** they do. Anyone who is a PJ will of course relate to and enjoy the stories. For friends and families of PJs who may not know exactly what it is he does, this book will give greater perspective of who the Pj in your life is, and what he does.Perhaps not written as a "self Help" book, but any reader can learn alot about personal and professional development. How to have extraordinary success, taking risks, making decisions, leadership, teamwork, communication, caring for your subordinates, not taking care of them - instead holding them accountable and help them grow. These and so many more leassons can be gleamed from the pages of Guardian Angel. "I had the premonition - the secret knowledge - so I ACTED as if I would deploy". Success, it's everything you think it is. Think about it, live it, believe with all your heart and soul and you will have success. Bill shows us though it's not just believing, you have to take action as well. Bill goes on to write, "I flexed my PJ skills as often as I could". He continues, "When I am in top physical shape I feel like I am invincible. I am the dominating alpha male, the pack leader with unshakable confidence". What are you doing to up you game? What are you doing to be the alpha male/female in the organization? Get this book and be extraordinary.

An Amazing Book about the World's Most Elite Rescue Squad
If you’ve ever dreamed of what it’s like to be a real-life superhero, this gripping and exhilarating memoir by former PJ legend William Sine is as close as you’ll ever get without actually hurting yourself. As a member of the world’s most elite rescue squad for more than thirty-years, William Sine and his colleagues live a very uncommon but incredibly amazing and rewarding lifestyle in the select fraternity that is Pararescue. U.S. Air Force Pararescue teams see action in a variety of diverse and dangerous environments: From the sweltering jungles of the Philippines, to the malevolent seas and crevasses of Iceland, to the terror of experiencing the bombing of the Khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia and rescuing downed aircrews behind enemy lines in Afghanistan. This is the reality of what it truly means to live by the creed, “That Other’s May Live.” However, the life of a PJ isn’t all adrenaline and testosterone, there are times spent training for future emergencies, customizing special equipment to rescue astronauts out at sea after reentry, outrageously funny moments with Pararescue teammates, and light-hearted family moments such as becoming a father for the first time and raising a rambunctious child as a single parent who eventually grows into a crazy young teen later on in life desperately in need of a stable and straight path into adulthood. If you loved Michael Hirsch’s “None Braver: U.S. Air Force Pararescuemen,” William Sine’s riveting memoir makes for a great companion book.
