NOVOpure Natural Talalay Latex Topper, Queen

I don't know the science behind the foam vs the latex so I'll just tell my experience. We had a 3" king memory foam topper. It made us so hot. Not a huge issue in the winter in Maryland but in the summer....gross. Not only that my senior dog gets very hot and he was miserable. All of us would wake up panting in the middle of the night. Enter new Latex topper. YAY! we are not burning up. Besides the temp issue there is a big difference in the support factor. The memory foam kind of cradles the body. You sink into it. The latex is more firm. At first, I was bummed about it. I could feel it in my hip bones but I've gotten used to it and anything beats the foam .(was 4 stars)FOLLOW UP Nov 5, 2013- It's still comfy but not even a year later there 2 troughs- one where I sleep, one where my husband sleeps. The latex is already compressed. I flipped it and if it continues this way the part where our feet used to be which is now where our upper body is, will turn into a trough. Im 150lbs, and hub is 200lbs. This isn't worth almost 300.00 and it's not sustainable.I had to put less stars because of this huge detail.

I don't think that this topper was made off 100% natural latex as written on the description because I could smell the smell of kerosene or petroleum when I opened its package. This smell made me feel headache. Besides, the zipper was broken immediately when I tried to open the cover to examine the topper itself. The cover was loose and made from cheap fabric that I thought it couldn't last long. Although seller has offered it at low price but its quality are low too, so I have returned it to seller.

Updated Review: This Talalay latex pad is soft but also supporting and prevents pressure points which cut off circulation or cause sore spots over bony areas. For the first time in many years I have been able to sleep and not wake up with back, shoulder or neck pains. I did try memory foam years ago and didn't like it because it had no support and made me hot. I should probably replace my entire mattress because it is old and saggy but for now this pad has solved the problem. I also like the removable cover and inner liner that comes on this pad and have no quality complaints about that. At first the smell was pretty strong and it took a couple of weeks to go away completely but didn't cause any problems for me. NOVOPure is based in British Columbia but the tag says Made In China. From what I have read some China made materials do have chemical and durability problems.NOW I DO HAVE A COMPLAINT: When I bought this in April 2013 the king price was $292 which was about right, but now it's $435 which is way overpriced!!!?? So I just bought a Ultimate Dreams 3" Talalay Latex Mattress Topper by Dreamfoam Bedding for $375 and the extra thickness is worth it. And it is made in USA and had no smell.

I don't know how "Natural" this topper is. What I do know is that it had a horrible chemical smell. I actually placed the topper outside for several days to allow the odor to dissipate. It never did. Back it went.
