HIGH QUALITY AND BEST VALUE. This a large volume of citric acid, that is dry and fresh. I used it for making bubbly water. It worked great and did not mess up my bubbly water machine. It is fine and dissolves in water quickly.

I have been searching for a cleaner to get the hard water white scale off our shower doors and shower heads for more years than I care to admit. From CLR, to the green stuff, to Kaboom and vinegar, even barkeepers, I tried everything that promised to remove it. Some worked a little (barkeepers) but most didn't work at all. I saw this citric acid in a review of some other product that the reviewer said did not work. The reviewer said to skip the other product and try this. She called it a "miracle cleaner". OK, I was up for a miracle at this point. I figured it was worth a try. If it didn't work I could always use it to make sourdough bread. It's other name is "sour salt" when used in cooking. I diluted the powder 2 TB per 4 cups warm water as suggested. I poured it into a clean spray bottle. I sprayed the shower door. The white scale melted before my eyes. And I mean MELTED off the door. I rinsed the door with a 2 liter spray bottle (Hudson brand sold on Amazon) and the door was like new! No scrubbing, no nothing. How could this product have escaped my notice all these years? I googled citric acid and saw the many other uses for this product from cleaning the coffee pot, to cleaning tile and windows. The dirty grout in my kitchen...clean! The apple slices got soaked in a light solution before dehydrating.(Cheaper than lemon juice). Anything vinegar or lemon juice can do, this can do better. Enough said. This is exactly the same as "sour salt" in the small container. I bought this because I am never going to get a decent sourdough starter going. I've tried for several years: the hundreds of different techniques on hundreds of bread websites, the "Alaska dehydrated starter" that I ordered all the way from Utah, the "fresh starter" from some folks that said it was over 100 years old and used on the Oregon Trail no less. Well, it was time for plan Z (the cheaters way). Add 1/4 to 1/2 tsp per dough recipe (about 3 cups flour) and add an extra tablespoon of yeast and you've got sourdough bread! The first time I used it, I didn't add extra yeast. I guess this salt inhibits yeast action. (same thing happened when I tried to make sourdough bread by adding vinegar.) The second time I used it to make rye bread, I added the extra yeast and it turned out perfectly. I have also used it for sweet and sour sauce. Vinegar is still my other sour ingredient in the sauce, but this adds a real kick. Lots of my grandma's "old country Russia" recipies use this sour salt. Cabbage and meatball recipe and many soups. Look on line for great "old country" recipies.

Great price for what you get. We use this to make laundry and dish pods and most recipes don't call for much so we're still on our first bag of it. It smells good without being overwhelming. It's very fine so it's easy to mix into things. It's a household good we always have on hand because it can be used for a lot of different things. Truly a natural product I can get behind and feel good exposing my family to.

Love it. Mix it with water, vinegar, a little proxide, if needed, in spray bottle. Cleans shower glass doors (no soap scum), bathroom, kitchen, dishwasher, spills, soak dish rags! I try to avoid bleached due to septic system. Also great for cleaning water tanks, coffee makers, kettles, scissors, can openers. Limitless. Make your own cleaning products. Save money! Just make sure you flush well with clean water. Won't harm you, but tastes strange if not flushed well.

Only thing that works against hard water in my Dishwasher ! And I mean I've tried everything at several hundred dollars in total. Cleaners, switching multiple detergents, degreasers, Vinegar, bleach. You name it in the hard water softener worlds. I've tried it! This stuff works. Safe. Mix it 50/50 with my regular powder detergent. Same in prewash. Crystal clear every wash. Before along my dishes were left with soap film. And badly. This stuff works.

We use this citric acid for everything from baking to cleaning. I have a recipe for a lemon syrup for hot and cold drinks and it is adds a real depth of flavour. I have added a bit to my lemon puddings and lemon meringue pie. We like extra lemony tartness. We use it to clean off calcium and lime deposits from hard water. We use it to clean the pumps for our aquariums. Being able to use natural products is great. Fantastic product?

I got this for my Zojirushi hot water dispenser (get one if you don't, you'll thank me later), they sell their own cleaner but with some research, I found out I could simply use citric acid (2 tbsp), in fact I think their own cleaner is just citric acid. I pour some of this with some warm water, fill the tank up and turn on the cleaning cycle. The entire thing is descaled. This would work well with a regular kettle boiler too. I had brown lime build up in my toilet, I could not figure out what it was for the life of me. Got different brushes, tried the vinegar soak, vinegar and baking soda, nothing worked. So I decided to try citric acid. Shut off the valve, flushed and held the flush, then emptied as much as I could with an old container I had lying around, I poured some citric acid, probably 1/2C but I just poured til it looked right, and I let it sit. I checked in every 30 minutes. I set a timer for 3 hours but I didn't even have to make it to 3 hours! Every 30 minutes, the stuff would just flake off!! I would sometimes get my brush and brush the bottom of the bowl (where the pipe is?) and try to get the citric acid water mix into the pipes. After 2.5 hours, everything was GONE. It was amazing!! No more disgusting unsightly toilet bowl. I will be doing this every now and then when I notice a build up but I got a new toilet brush too (ends up I guess I didn't really need it though..) You could potentially just use the citric acid mix and leave it for a few hours and flush and not need to brush since it just comes right off. I would say, don't leave it all night because it is still acid.
