Works Great with a Pentax WG-8
This was the only float I found on Amazon that listed a weight limit, so I bought it since my camera was within the limit. The description says it is good for 11 oz. My camera weighs 8.54 oz and floated very well when I tested it in the pool. I don't know if the float absorbs water over time and sinks or not, but it is something I may test in the future. As of now, I have no plans to leave the camera and float in the water for any length of time.

The camera floats
Tried it out in the pool before taking it out to the ocean. a compact waterproof camera floats. the strap remains too loose, otherwise it would be 5 stars

It works
We felt much more secure using this strap with a water safe camera in the ocean. The red color stands out & the wrist strap floats so that it is visible on top of the water.

My TG-5 floats
I have 2 requirements for this strap: it must stay attached to the camera, and it must float the camera. For my Olympus TG-5, it meets both requirements. It does have a fastex-type attachment so it can easily be removed without having to rethread the string attachment, and it might be a good idea to glue that device shut so the camera can't be detached by accident. The strap seems to be fairly well made, but built to a price point, so it won't last forever. I haven't owned it long enough to rate its durability.

My camera really floats now!
The media could not be loaded. I had a blue Canon D30: 25 meters, 12 mg pixels and 3X zoom. On December 23, 2018 at the end of my diving session I passed the weights to the boat and my cam went down in senconds OMG ... videos and pics there. I said, there should be something to avoid cams sinking ... well the very first thing was to buy another cam, an orange Nikon AW130: 30 meters, 16 mg pixels and 5X zoom. End of history: I found this strap and it does work (see my attached video). Strap feels light and comfortable on the arm. It drys quickly.

Black piece doesn’t stay tighter, keeps slipping down.
I like the idea, but the black piece that is suppose to make it smaller keeps sliding down. So I was a little worried about loosing it. It was comfortable around the wrist even when the black piece made it tighter, to bad it didn’t work and stay tighter.

Did What Was needed
4 stars instead of 5 as the snap is a little hard to position to actually tighten the strap but overall it worked for our waterproof camera.

great camera float
Using an Olympus TG-5 with fish eye lens. this float works great, but i do not use it around the wrist. It is just in case my camera falls overboard. this one does not get stuck on things like the rectangular float straps do. I love it. I recommend it to everyone.

Works!
Works well with Olympus Tough, Nikon Coolpix S-32 and Ricoh WG-6 sized cameras. Larger cameras may slowly sink.
