Great for DIY floating shelves
I’ve used these in two different rooms in my house for DIY shelves that I built. They are my go-to option for sure. Installation is easy. They would be perfect if they had a three holes instead of two. The two holes are sometimes just wide to hit either edge of the stud (at least on an older house). So we usually can only use the left or right hole vs both. I’d love to have that middle option to ensure it’s really secure but we’ve made them work so far.

Very strong, well made
Back plates a little thick, unless recessed into the shelf will cause a gap between the shelf and the wall, would also recommend a paper template be provided for drilling locations

Pretty Straight Forward Brackets
Let me start off with, I have never been a fan of hanging floating shelves. Even the pre-drilled, ready to hang ones always seem to be slightly off-line. I purchased these to make floating shelves for my bathroom. I wanted a custom shelf that needed to be a specific look and length. The brackets came as ordered and complete. I did have to go buy a new drill bit since I didn't have 15/32" in my case (good thing I work for a hardware store) but that size bit is a bit of an odd ball size. I would recommend they just make them 1/2" for customer convenience. Anyways, I got them drilled and installed pretty easily. Much less time than I assumed it would take. I would also recommend including a drilling template of some sorts, because measuring out where the rod drill hole should be was the most time consuming part. They seem sturdy enough for your typical bathroom shelf decor. Another weird thing was the plastic anchor screws. They are nipped out at the end for some reason and even after drilling pilot holes into the wall, they still snapped off and caused me to have to pry the broken pieces out of the wall. Make sure you drill large enough pilot holes for those. Overall, install was not as bad as I expected, but there is some room for product improvement. I would recommend this product despite the minor draw backs.

Very sturdy
These are well made, my only complaint is that the spacing on the holes is too wide to sink both into a stud if one is available. I just drilled some extra holes on center for my project. If you're planning to sink into drywall or masonry they put plenty of fasteners in the kit for you (I did use the masonry hardware for one support and it's holding well.

1/2" bit Required
Recently purchased these for 2 floating shelves. Used 2" rough cut Alder. Prepped the shelves and deviated from the instructions slightly. The instructions say to use a 7/16" drill bit.. the rods are not straight and even with a drill press to confirm the holes were drilled correctly, the bracket would not fit. Had to increase to 1/2" drill bit. This was the next problem as depending on the drill bit, you might not be able to drill deep enough for the bracket to sit flush. I had to use an adapter to drill the correct depth. The package comes with 4 drywall anchors that are an absolute joke. Do not use them, they won't hold. The holes on the bracket are placed outside the stud thickness and only hit the very edge (not supportive either), so you will need to modify the bracket. I drilled another hole in each bracket evenly spaced beneath the existing hole so that I could screw into the center of the stud, but this will changes the spacing of where your holes are on the shelf so plan ahead and mark everything before you begin.Lastly, the 5" support rod is not in the center of the mounting bracket. The bracket is uneven, so if you think you can just drill the hole in the center of a 2" shelf like I did, the top of the bracket will show. It was an easy fix as I was able to rotate my shelf 180 degrees. This product works. It holds up the shelves and looks nice, but it took a lot more modifying and adjusting than what is depicted in the description or instructions.
