Obscene pricing, yet great product
I want to give this zero stars for just how much of a monopoly Nissan has on its transmissions. Concomitantly, how obscenely priced this is for a system that needs its fluid replaced at twice the rate of a standard automatic transmission. At the time I'm posting this Honda is offering their CTV fluid at HALF of this price. But if you own a Nissan you MUST use this product. Forget voiding any transmission warranty, they are not bluffing when they say specially formulated for your Nissan. If you don't want excess wear and tear or complete failure of your transmission you must use this product.I have a used 2011 Altima that just hit 60k miles and had an issue with clutch slippage between gears that, as a first time CVT owner, I thought was normal. After replacing the fluid myself I was pleased to find no metal in my existing fluid, but saddened to find that it was very burnt, and should have been changed thousands of miles earlier. After putting 5 fresh quarts in I'm actually extremely impressed with how much better the transmission is operating (I genuinely wasn't expecting a difference, I was content with performance and bought this out of necessity from my service manuals recommended maintenance intervals). Shifting between gears is very noticeably smoother and there is no more slippage and stuttering. The overall acceleration has improved, to my amazement, as well. I personally believe now that this fluid needs to be changed more frequently than Nissan recommends, and that their recommendation might be to not warn off possible buyers. I will very begrudgingly be changing my fluid every 30k from now on, and will be cursing Nissan every time I have to pay this obscene price for this product.

Fixed My issues
I had a 2008 nissan sentra. I thought the transmission was going bad. The transmission was overheating , couldn't drive more than 10 minutes on the freeway. I was going to junk it. As a hail mary, I decided to flush the cvt fluid and add this one. Transmission drives well now! No problems.

Use this instead of other brands for your Nissan
This is the only stuff you can use on Nissan's CVT transmission if you have a Rogue and some other models. A couple things to note...1) I did a 2008 Rogue SL AWD transmission with this. Although the total capacity for this model is just over 9 quarts, I could only drain approximately 5 quarts out of it. There are ways to get all fluid out but it's beyond my skill. I unscrewed the drain bolt, removed the transmission fluid dipstick, and let it drain for about one hour. I ordered 10 quarts b/c I did not know how much I'd get to drain out and didn't want to be in a position where I couldn't drive the vehicle until I ordered more quarts.2) The 2008 (and I think 2009) Nissan Rogues had their transmission warranties increased due to some sort of design flaw. The warranty on your transmission is 120,000 miles in case you didn't know. I mention it here because if you do your transmission flush and use something OTHER THAN this fluid, you voided that extra warranty. If you do it yourself keep your receipts just in case Nissan asks you for them. If you're past 120,000 miles you're free to use any fluid you want since there's no warranty.3) I know some people re-use washers for their oil pan and transmission pan but I recommend not doing that. Just buy a new crush ring online - they're only a couple bucks. It's true your old one might be fine but I feel better knowing I have a new ring (or washer) on there to seal. Torque to spec.

Try this before replacing your transmission
So glad I bought this. My wife's Nissan Rogue lost all power on the highway on a long road trip this summer. There was no warning light, the check engine light never came on, nothing. We had no indication that there was a problem. After doing some research I discovered that this is a fail safe mode for CVT transmissions. When the transmission get overheated it will fall back to this mode to prevent itself from damaging anything. Our friend who owns a local auto mechanic shop scanned the codes on the vehicle and the code that came back made him confident that the transmission had to be completely replaced.I drained the old fluid and filled the transmission with the correct amount of this fluid according to the manual. It has worked great ever since. Many many road trips later and not a single hiccup. $80 worth a fluid was a lot cheaper than a brand new transmission. Try this first if you're having similar problems. If you can change motor oil, you can change this fluid. It will require a long skinny funnel to fill the dip tube with this fluid as there is no other way to fill the transmission fluid besides the dip tube.
