There was no remote control with mine. I don't know the answer to the second part of your question, sorry.

Yes,that is why i bought it so we get woken up by west coast Irish stations,which you can't get on dab..

Q: What internet portal does this radio use and is it still regularly updated? can you manually add urls?

It uses frontier nuvolo portal. It ir regularly updated (9,884 in the last week) it actually tells you. I cannot confirm re urls as I have never looked, as I have always found what I am looking for. There are several ways to search. Up to today it has: Stations: 54,736 Podcasts: 26,440 I have been using frontier nuvolo for some time now, as a previous radio I had changed to this.
