Handles discolour in dishwasher.. not keen on the sharp cutting edge..
# Update .. I’m finding the sharp edge on theses a problem. you just don’t (or I don’t!) expect such a sharp serrated edge on a spreading knife. they’re not dishwasher safe unless you’re ok with the colour coming off the handles... you have to be very careful if washing by hand due to the sharp edge, on reflection I probably wouldn’t buy again.. the quest for the perfect spreading knife continues!Original reviewNice spreading knifes..surprisingly hard to find I think in uk shops, these are very solid little knives, not too much bend in the blade which makes them better for hard butter etc but in my opinion not as good for things like jam. I like the metal riveted handle.. much better than others I’ve got where the blade is pushed in and ends up coming loose. I’m not so keen on the cutting edge being on these.. I guess if you’re cutting sandwiches you’ve got spreader and cutter in one.. but I keep forgetting about the serrated edge when washing them and nearly slicing my finger off in the process.. overall thought very usable .. they measure 20.5cm from the tip to the bottom of the handle.. the blade is 10cm , BE AWARE...these are NOT for the dishwasher.. handles get soft and varnish comes off .. hope this helps !

Poor man's Swedish "Lilleman" knife
Growing up in Sweden everyone I knew had a "Lilleman" a spreading knife used for baking. In the UK it is impossible to come by them so I looked on Amazon and found these. They are certainly useable in the same situations (spreading the cinnamon bun dough before rolling the buns, cutting the buns, cutting rolls of cookie dough etc.), but it is obvious the quality is quite a bit lower. I wouldn't dare put them in the dishwasher for example, but on the bright side, they come in a pack of 4 so if one breaks it's not a big deal. I have still asked my parents to bring me a proper one from Sweden though.

Not the nicest looking knives
Came in good time. the wooden handles are a bit clumsy looking, but they do the job for now. Wouldn't recommend if you are looking for something nice though.

Excellent for the price.
Bought these 'cos they're a good Yorkshire price..... and they work. Polished blades, riveted wood handle (not glued or plastic) and nicely polished. If there is a downside, it is that the blades are too thick to be flexible, they don't bend and for me that spoils the spreading ability a bit. That said, they are good, no regrets.
