Great for Self Studying γ«γ»γγ!
Just got the book and I gotta say I love it! It's great with vocab, examples and really helping you practice difficult sections of the grammar, vocab, reading and listening. Would definitely recommend for people who need a sense of structure other than YouTube videos and random pages of learning Japanese π―π΅

Based on Quality and Seller Response
The book is a great quality and came well packaged. When I reached out to the seller due to a CD being listed in the title, I was informed newer printings only come with info to get the audio online so be aware!Still worth the value as I continue studying alone to eventually take the N5 exam.Worth the cost, especially with so many others available even here.

Great to become δΈζ
Great textbook, sad that it arrived a bit creased from no plastic protective covering over the book. Contents inside very instructive without babying you, good workbook. Physical copy much more effective to work with than PDF

Great for Kanji and Vocabulary!
Really good Vocab and Kanji sections, probably my favorite for these! I will say the Grammar and Reading section isn't the best. Not well explained and not enough practice questions to get the information to really stick. As for the listening section, it's good, but personally I don't like using CDs for audio and feel like doing listening practice through apps and Youtube videos is just as, if not more, effective. Completing this N5 level book helped me decide which Nihongo So Matome books I would like to buy for further levels, since they separate the sections into separate books after this one.I recently ordered books for N4, and I would recommend the Nihongo So Matome N4 Vocab/Kanji book (you can buy it separately, OMG Japan is the site I used to buy my N4 books). I didn't buy the other Nihongo So Matome N4 book (reading, grammar, listening) and I'm glad that they separate them.As for Grammar and Reading, I ordered New Kanzen Master for these. I heard NKM is the best for JLPT Grammar (but they don't have N5 level, I believe). I also bought the Try! N4 for extra practice/reinforcement. The Try! books are supposedly good for listening too since it has CD audio for everything, so this could be a good choice for some listening practice. And for more listening practice, I'm just saving my money and sticking to apps and Youtube. Anyway, I hope this information helps anyone who is looking to move from N5 to N4 and doesn't know which books to get. For those looking for a solid N5 book, I don't believe this Nihongo So Matome book is really the best on its own if you're taking the JLPT test, but along with some other textbooks and apps it is a good supplement to learning, especially Vocabulary and Kanji!

Great, short lessons for JLPT practice or practice in general.
I use this daily. It's easy to use daily. The average time required (for me) is 25 minutes. This time includes writing out all sentences in the questions for practice.I highly recommend this for anyone just above absolute beginner. Book arrived in perfect condition.

The best Japanese self study book
My son loves this book, he is learning Japanese on his own and this book was one of the most recommended study material.

The Vietnamese is very annoying
The Vietnamese is not just there, in my opinion I think it actually interferes with you learning.
