Ai no Kusabi The Space Between Volume 4: Suggestion (Yaoi Novel) Paperback – November 18, 2008

This series is magnificent! Early in the 90's an anime appearedin Japan that would rock. It was a love story about a "mongrel"named Riki who had the misfortune to cross paths with a mancalled Jason, an elite race of Blondies, perfected human beings. Jason would come to love the proud Riki through torture andforced encounters that would not break Riki despite appearances.Much would come between them to tear them apart includingthreats to Jason that he would be reprogramed if he kept suchan inferior pet as Riki. Recently a new manga translation was made available towe eager American readers. It is very good with illustrationsthat are just right for the series. I had read previously thatthere weren't enough illustrations. I think there are andthey are quite beautiful and haunting. The most recent volume "Suggestion" continues the storyof Riki, freed fron his confinement for a year, by Jason. Itdoes not hold back in its frank sexuality and powerful lovethat Jason has come to feel for Riki. Excellent. One cautionthough,it is mature reading. Highly recommended!

Riki has been released from Iason and makes a beeline to the slums. But it's not the typical slums. He's being drawn into a trap by none other than Kirie. This books deals more with the three years of Riki and Iason. Kirie's motivations and twisted sense of loyalty and self preservation are talked about in this book. It's explicit, it's romantic, it's dark and twisted and you can love to hate characters and hate to love them but you can't stop reading and can't wait for the next installment. Read alone so you won't be interrupted. It's amazing.

It suffers from Japanese to English translation, but it is still a great read and WAY better reading than 50 Shades and Twilight put together.

The story flows nicely, and is a great continuation of the privious story, that leaves the reader looking forword to the next book.

Well shipped, good book

Just take a pause and look at the gorgeous cover of Iason. Okay, the review. In this fourth book of the series, besides Riki and Iason, also Kyrie gets a fair share of attention. Very interesting to read the motivations of his actions and to what lengths he goes for that. The Sci-fi world created in this series is becoming more detailed with each volume. By accident I stumbeled across the OVA and I am glad I did. Otherwise I would never have read this series (being a novel and no manga) and that would have been a loss.

This is an absolutely great read. It definitely brings to light the happenings during the three years Rikki was separated from Bison. It's a whole new twist on an already wonderful story.

The editing and translation is okay for this book. Other then that the story is amazing.

Ich kannte erst den Anime und bin durch Zufall auf die Novellen gestossen und war sehr positiv überrascht. Ich kann jedem die Bücher nur empfehlen, der mehr über die einzelnen Charakter erfahren möchte.
