The links of the Neck-Tech are called elements, and may be used to adjust the collar length.

Superb Training Collar
I've relied on three different generations of Sprenger collars for about fifteen years now, and they have been of inestimable help with many, many dogs (my pack has always contained two, sometimes three dogs at a time). In particular I think of an occasionally headstrong Cane Corso (think of a pitbull on steroids), two Great Danes, one of whom was a very volatile rescue dog when she arrived, and most lately, an extremely strong Dane-Labrador rescue who can still be impulsive when rabbits beckon or can prove dog-aggressive when I least expect it. The last dog is coming along splendidly now but was returned to the rescue by two previous owners who found him too much to handle. This particular collar is a GREAT training collar which normally hangs slack but can be suddenly tightened for corrections, providing the mild "mother-dog" bite of a pinch collar. Like a pinch collar, it also allows the human maximum control, but UNLIKE a pinch collar, it will not fall off. It can be easily sized to stay up at the top of the neck where it's needed. If it's like the first Sprenger collar I bought (from Germany, the only place where I could find them at the time), it will last forever. (My new adolescent rescue dog will graduate to that collar when his training is complete). All of that said, I do see that one reviewer complained that this collar fell off. Honestly, I cannot imagine how that happened. As someone else complained, adding or subtracting links is a challenge. I use a fat screwdriver to pry the links open and a good needlenose pliars to close them, plus a fair amount of strength for both halves of the job. Once the links are squeezed closed again, the collar is all but impregnable. And as an added bonus, these collars are downright elegant! In fact their appearance protects the dog-walker from both the unwarranted criticisms of passersby who believe that pinch collars are cruel however they are used AND from the equally unwarranted fears of passersby who believe that any dog who requires a strong training collar should be euthanized instantly. Yes, Sprenger collars are relatively expensive, but, as noted, they last forever. I am SO grateful that they're now available in this country!

High quality that works
Collar is not difficult to put on once you figure it out. It works without drawing judgement from people. Once our dog was trained, I just use it for the vet as they fawn over him too much getting him excited. Collar looks great and vet commented on his beautiful 'bling'. Well worth the money.

Neck Tech collar
very nice collar.I used a wire pinch from this company for a few days before I started with this one.My almost 8 months old Staffy is such a different dog since this company came along.just Lovely, one detail. I wanted a hook closure but I ended up with crew latch which is OK.just needed to get used to it. It is a very sturdy design.

Almost Perfect
This collar works great and the low profile design is exactly what i desired. I have a 9 month old pit bull and she requires a pinch. She is on the small side but still incredible strong and her desire to show dominance is just a strong. I tried the choke and a conventional pinch collar. The choke collar was an epic fail and often caused more harm than correction. When using the traditional pinch collar it was effective and she responded very well. I (as I'm sure others) grew very tired very quickly of all the negative comments I reiceved from uneducated dog owners and non dog owners on the merits of using a pinch. One lady even said she'd call Animal Cruelty on me, as her own lab was attempting to pull her arm out of her socket. The low profile of this collar allows me and my pup the security and strength of training with a pinch whithout letting idiots in on the secret. This collar would be worth 5 stars if it weren't for two issues.1) It's is extremely difficult to adjust at first, it takes a lot of muscling to seperate the prongs.2) There is a longer than normal adjustment period for your Pup as well as some serious neck chaffing and scrapping until adjusted just right. All and all though definetly worth the investment.

looks cool, works great
I have a 6 month old puppy rottweiler, about 80 lbs. I used a regulator pinch collar on walks until i ordered this collar. This collar works better, don't have to pop so hard when he starts pulling and looks cool.

Kept falling off
Received the collar and it appeared to be very good quality - impressive. However, on two different occasions, my dog managed to unlatch it by herself simply by scratching at it with her hind leg. I am quite sure it was properly attached. Both of these initial two times were inside the house, so I was able to recover it and put it back on her.Unfortunately, the collar has now disappeared while she was running outside and I could not find it (she is a very active dog, so it could be anywhere across a significant amount of land). As a result, I am disappointed with the collar and cannot recommend it.
