Stronger bones? YES WE CAN! Research results reported, here.
Strontium is used to prevent and to treat osteoporosis, as it makes bones stronger. The prescription form in some countries is strontium ranelate; this is strontium citrate. There is some research using this form, and what is pretty cool about it is that using X-ray fluorescence, they can detect whether the strontium is taken up into the bone or not, without waiting for an autopsy. :) That is helpful! A 2013 study found that this form led to higher bone concentrations than the ranelate form. A 2014 study using this approach with volunteers who selected their own supplement found that the levels began rising within 24 hours, and continued to do so throughout the 4 years of the study. There was individual variability though, and that could be for a variety of reasons. This must be taken 2 hours apart from calcium, magnesium, or antacids. There are some bone health supplements that combine the strontium with those other minerals, and that is not the way to do this! This should also be taken on an empty stomach. It isn't for everyone: contraindications include antibiotic therapy, pregnancy, lactation, children & young adults, severe kidney impairment, and any issue that affects circulation. That could include pulmonary disorders, clotting disorders, hypertension, or being very sedentary.I have saved the best for last. A 2017 study found "both clinical and mechanistic support for the use of MSDK for the prevention or treatment of osteopenia, osteoporosis or other bone-related diseases." The study is in the journal, Aging, and you can obtain a complete copy with dosages, etc., through Pubmed on the NIH.gov website. Here is the title: Melatonin-micronutrients Osteopenia Treatment Study (MOTS): a translational study assessing melatonin, strontium (citrate), vitamin D3 and vitamin K2 (MK7) on bone density, bone marker turnover and health related quality of life in postmenopausal osteopenic women following a one-year double-blind RCT and on osteoblast-osteoclast co-cultures.I hope that this is helpful to you! Do let me know, and happy shopping!

Life Extension Strontium Caps
My healthcare professional recommended that I start taking Strontium capsules due to my Osteoporosis.I chose Life Extension supplements because they are Science Based so I'm confident knowing that I'm getting the correct dose each day based upon current research. Upon consulting with L.E. Wellness Consultant, I learned that I can take the required 3 capsules 30 minutes BEFORE breakfast, rather than waiting 2 hours after a meal and then waiting another 2 hours after taking the Strontium to be sure that I get the maximum absorption for my bones. I swallow the three capsules individually which makes them much easier to get down. Be sure to drink PLENTY of filtered water to get the capsules all the way down. Sometimes, I follow up with either a fresh Mandarin Orange or a small amount of fresh lemon juice diluted in filtered water and sweetened with a few drops of Sweet Leaf Stevia Sweetener. I can definitely tell that the L.E. Strontium supplement is working because my back doesn't hurt as much like it did prior to taking this product.

Shame on the FDA for banning strontium ranelate in the United States
Strontium ranelate (Protelos) is available in almost every other industrialized nation as a prescription drug for preventing and treating osteoporosis (low bone density and future bone fractures). The FDA has banned it in the United States because it might cause a slightly higher incidence of heart attacks in people who are in poor cardiovascular health. This is unfortunate because the only other extremely good drugs for preventing and treating osteoporosis are denosumab (Prolia), teriparatide (Forteo), and raloxifene hydrochloride (Evista).Bisphosphonates [such as alendronate (Fosamax), risedronate (Actonel), ibandronate (Boniva), and zoledronate (Reclast)] would be fine for preventing and treating osteoporosis except that a very large percentage of patients (up to 50% in the case of alendronate) will stop using them within only 3 months because of very severe side effects. The delicious, fermented, Japanese soybean food called, natto, is also extremely beneficial in preventing and treating osteoporosis, in preventing and treating calcified arteries, and in preventing and treating arterial and venous blood clots. Soymilk fermented into a delicious soy yogurt or a delicious soy cheese by the extremely beneficial probiotic bacterium, Bacillus subtilis natto, can also be eaten instead of genuine natto. Simply pour Kirkland Signature Soymilk (or any other brand of soymilk) over either dried (hoshi) natto or over fresh, never-frozen natto inside of a sealed, tupperware container to create this delicious result.Strontium ranelate is better absorbed than strontium citrate, which is better absorbed than all other forms of strontium supplementation. Strontium supplementation has been been shown in scientific studies to be extremely beneficial, not only in improving bone density and preventing future bone fractures, but also in preventing osteoarthritis of the knee.
