Kids Love her Parents, not so much
My daughter was struggling to get into reading. All she wanted was picture books and in first grade, they needed to do a lot more reading. Then came Junie B. Jones. My daughter learned about her on the playground at school and asked if I could read her one of the books. I said sure and we started with the first book, about the stinky, smelly bus. My daughter laughed and all of a sudden she fell in love with reading and went from a reluctant struggling reader to being more fluent and loving reading. So much so, that we caught her in her room sitting next to the night light because she had to read "One more chapter".For those who don't know Junie B. Jones, she starts off in Kindergarten and eventually into first grade. Much of the story deals with her classmates such as May (who she doesn't really like). Junie, like most Kindergartners and first graders is very self absorbed which makes her relatable to 5, 6 and 7 year old. She also does a lot of whining and complaining (Just like the kids in the books target age group).5 stars for a seasons that got a reluctant reader to love reading1 star off because I don't like Junie's attitude. My daughter says that Junie deserves 5 stars and everyone needs every book. and if their parents won't buy them, to ask Santa for them

The print is big and the books have short chapters.
I’ve bought several of these books for my granddaughter whom is 8 and she absolutely loves them. This is a great book for Elementary age kids.

not proper grammer
My daughter loves the Junie b Jones series. Only fault I find is that they don't use proper language in the book. Which I understand is how most young kids talk - but when you are trying to teach your 7 year old proper grammer and language and then she reads the exact opposite, it's kind of deceiving.

American phrasing might jar on early readers
Lots of opportunites in the text for children to act out dialogue when reading it themselves or when being read to. Humurous.

Love them!
My 6 year old and I have been reading these books, Many people criticize for the Grammar but the character is in kindergarten, and these are her wacky and zany stories. My Daughter laughs and can't wait to find out what shenanigans she will get into next!

Just like I remembered growing up reading these books. It's a good read. Bought for a friend's daughter who will eventually get to read it when she's old enough! Came in good shape
