Such a great resource!
Gail Gibbons books are classic. The colorful illustrations and paperback format in which it is printed give me nostalgia. You can always count on her books to be educational. One can not know anything at the beginning of each book... yet by the time you get towards the ending- you will have learned so much! This is definitely not a “story” type of book- it is full of information. Probably best to be used as a supplemental resource when the child is studying a certain topic. Not everything has to be learned via online research nowadays. Give children a chance to learn thru books like these. Let them turn the pages and look at the pictures while you read to them.We will be ordering more of her books as needed for studies.

The Honeymakers
Lllllik, ahhh, oh hi! If you love honey, then you should read The Honeymakers, this book makes you more interested so... READ ON! I think The Honeymakers is the best book in the world because it has all these facts that make you want SO many honey! It give you a LOT of information about... bees! I know, it's weird, right? It's call The Honeymakers because bees are honey makers! One thing I like about the book is the author, Gail Gibbons, did labels to tell you about the bee body. Another reason is that it even tells you how a bee is born! Gail Gibbons does great cut-aways to let you see inside the cocoon. Now if you're still scared or don't like bees, just read The Honeymakers, if you don't have it, buy it on Amazon.By Chen, First Grade

Good Choice for Young Readers
A good choice for kids and one that can be adapted for younger readers until they grow into it. Makes an important contribution to their understanding of the critical role played by honeybees and other pollinators.

informative and fun
Our family are home schoolers, so we are always looking for very fun educational resources. This is a great educational book. Lots of great info. The only thing I would warn you about is there is some evolution theory content, but overall lots of great info. We also purchased the safari ltd life cycle bee set. Together they were really fun! And if you're reading it to your children you can change the billions of years to thousands of years yourself.

uber impressive
This book is a great non-fiction read for almost any level. Younger grades will love hearing it and the upper grades will love studying it. I teach 4th grade and there are good relationships with this book to Common Core. Sequencing, cause/effect, compare/contrast, analyzing, and on and on. Awesome non-fiction book and great book all around!!! Highly recommended!!
