When Jessie Came Across the Sea

This is an awesome edition. the illustrations are so beautiful. It is a truly beautiful book to have. A must have for any library.

The detailed pictures are well worth the read. Exquisite and delightful. Lovely story of a girl coming across the sea by herself. A must have in any child’s library

Oh my goodness, this book is a gem! The illustrations are beautiful, the story gently told, and it's a wonderful teaching resource. I used it with a Year 6 class and they produced the best work they'd written all year, inspired by the illustrations and simple warmth of the story.

This is an amazing story that can connect to children on many different levels. I use this book when I teach my unit on immigration to 4th graders. It depicts how hard it was for families to adapt in the United States and how hard immigrants worked doing trade jobs in order to pay for their families to join them in their new country. This book is about love, hard work, family, immigration, and even touches upon the Jewish religious hierarchy. I recommend this to teachers and parents that enjoy doing read alouds to their children!
