How to Raise a Plant: and Make It Love You Back

Ahhhh where do I start?! I’ve been eagerly awaiting the release of this book and I can assure you that it does not disappoint! I just wish that this book was around when I first started my houseplant collection! This book is not only a gorgeous coffee table addition but an informative read as well. There’s everything from selecting, transporting, maintaining, troubleshooting and caring for the houseplants you choose for your home. I really appreciate how they explain propagation & care techniques. I spent so much time researching propagation and didn’t find much so there was a ton of trial and error. This is packed with info and straight to the point. I’d definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in the houseplant life and it’s the perfect gift for the green enthusiast. 5 stars all around...I’ll definitely be gifting this to all of my friends!

This book is very pretty, but the content is a bit light to be truly useful. I am a brand-new houseplant owner and ended up buying a second book (the New York Time Book of Houseplants) to supplement the information. Still a fun book to flip through though! Lots of ideas for future plants.

The book is cute and well laid out but truly gives no information past what any person who has ever owned a plant would know. I suppose if you're looking to Instagram your plants rather than actually take care of them, this book might work for you. It certainly did not help me in diagnosing some leaf issues.

I saw this book in a cute store in San Diego and purchased it from Amazon due to much better price. This book is well laid out with talking about general care and maintenance including tools/supplies needed as well as general information on how to propagate and groom your house plants. This takes up the first third of the book. The second third of the book talks about house plants listing one plant over a two page spread describe the light, water, soil, fertilizer needs, and specific propagation tips for that plant. The remainder of the book gives cute ideas on how to display your plants.

Aside from looking super cute on my side table, this book is a great little field guide for plant owners of all skill levels! It gives clear, easy to follow instructions covering subjects from making sure you have the right light conditions to plant care tips, even diy projects. I consider myself knowledgeable when it comes to plants and I found lots of little tips in the book that had never crossed my mind, and I’ve already gifted it to two friends starting out on their plant journey.

Not alot of info for all the hoopla about this book. Some nice pics of plants. Not much insight given on caring for houseplants other than what most people already know

Lots of good information and inspiration in here for being a plant parent. Very attractively laid out, great photos. Not encyclopedic by any means, but that’s what the internet is for. The book is great as a reference to keep on the bookshelf or on a coffee table.

Beautiful book and a great instagram page, the layout was fun and was hoping for some great tips and education. U fortunately it falls short on anything above the basics laid out well. For the price its just not worth the money, you can find detailed books for a fraction of the price, maybe not with a modern design, but with alot more helpfully information. I was genuinely disappointed after expected soo much more.

Great looking book that will look good on a shelf, detailed and easy to understand instructions on caring for plants, price is a little steep for what you get.

Great little book, tells you everything you need to know to raise houseplants.

Bought as a gift for a friend besotted by plants and was very well recieved. Clear and not too overwhelming, definitely more insta friendly than intimidating!

Seems to work. Havn’t killed any plants yet.
