The Religious Poetry of Vladimir Solovyov

I do not pretend to understand all the meaning behind Soloviev's philosophy. The books I bought are the first I've read of this author. I highly recommend poem no. 91 in The Religious Poetry of Vladimir Solovyov. For anyone who has lost a loved one to death, it is a great consolation. It reveals a truth I've never seen expressed before. Read the second stanza.

The Religious Poetry of Vladimir Solovyov is visual, evocative of physical realities that mirror spiritual realities, and the language and images are so beautiful! It isn't easy to translate poetry from one language to another without losing some of the original meaning, but this collections seems to have come quite close. I thoroughly enjoy it, and would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys Russian works of literature, philosophy and theology, as well as poetry.
