Do not waste your money on this one....
This saw is cheaply made. I knew this when I placed the order. I needed a mini miter saw and there were not many choices.I do not expect this saw to last a long time. Since my project simply involves cutting basswood and balsa wood, I think this saw should work.I finished two wood structures with this saw. You can see them in the first picture. From the tape measure nearby, you can tell the size of the structures. They are about 8.5" tall each.As I was working on the third structure, the saw suddenly stopped working. It doe not make any sound or movement. My third structure is held in limbo. This saw is a subpar product. It is worth 1/4 of the price at the most. I do not bother to return it. Shipping cost is more than what this crap's value.update: Price went down from $49.99 to $31 after bunch of bad reviews. At the same time, I found there are other brand mini miter saws that look exactly the same. I believe they are the same crap from the same vendor. DO NOT BUY THEM NO MATTER WHAT.

Didn't like this. Tried it twice. I now use a band saw

Handy But Limited
I bought this to help build a doll house for a charity auction. Also looked at the Proxxon, but at 1/3 the price, this was the only reasonable choice. In contrast to another reviewer, no, full size tools are of little help on a project like this. The good news about this item is that it quickly produces clean cuts in small stock, such as the basswood, pine and oak I have been working with on this project. As on a full size chop saw, the primary operator movement is down into the stock and then back up. The stock is held firmly in a small vise, which in turn is attached to a table that rotates up to 45 degrees in one direction to allow bevels and other angle cuts. Moving a small interlock at the front of the handle allows the saw to be moved down to make cuts, with power controlled by a separate on off rocker switch. The bad news about this item is the imprecise manufacturing, difficulty in ''aiming'' the cut, and very noisy operation. The components themselves operate, but on items like the vise screw and the toothed drive wheels, manufacturing is to less precise tolerances than most other tools I own. (Other reviewers noted a breakdown after only a little use--I temporarily removed the belt cover on the left side of the tool to tighten the set screw in each of the drive wheels to secure them to their respective shafts. Operation has been trouble free since.)My biggest disappointment with the saw is that there is no easy way to sight the blade against the cut. With the stock clamped in the vise, I've needed to repeatedly bring the non-moving blade down against the stock to see where it will hit, unclamp, readjust, and repeat until ready to cut. Some sort of adjustable work stop or even clear index on the table would be very valuable improvements to this design. In operation, the saw is quite noisy and, unless clamped to the bench, tends to ''walk'' (a dedicated clamp is included in the box). It is small enough that the base can be steadied with one hand while the saw is operated with the other, and I expect I will mount it to a piece of 2x board as I have with my miniature table saw so it operates steadily but can still be moved around easily. All in all, the saw makes cleaner, quicker cuts than a hobby saw miter box, but could be improved in design, manufacture, and operation. It has been helpful on my project, and would be a 4 or 5 star value if it were better made and easier to use.

Very nice
I also bought this saw to cut down 223 brass for 300 Blackout. Works like a dream. Had to manufacture a holder for the case out of 2 part epoxy. The type you cut out of a tube. Once that was done I was making repeatable cuts time after time. Great value good little saw

Great little saw.
Love it. Works great. Perfect size. Just what I was looking for. Would certainly recommend it for small crafty projects.

i took a chance
i had read as many reviews as possible before purchasing. unfortunately, it did not suit me needs. i was expecting a more accurate model of a full size miter saw. I should have read the negative reviews more carefully.1. the miter adjustment only works from one side: the piece of wood must be on the left.2. only a square piece of trim will be held securely.3. i thought the blade locking mechanism was very annoying4. the blade doesn't slide forward/backward in the down positionHowever, i received a fair price and had prompt delivery from the vendor.

light work only.
I used it to cut brass .223 cases. it burned out after 500 cases. weak motor and weak blade. I would use on soft woods only.

Good product for the price and it does the job!
It works but is made very cheap. I bought it to cut very thin brass and it does. I would worry about cutting anything else.
