Awesome read
What a great book, from one of the best American hockey players of all time. It was nice to read about the behind the scenes of an nhl players life, especially coming from an honest person who isn’t scared of being politically correct.

Outspoken
I have been a fan of J.R. since his days of playing with the Hawks. Thankfully, I can still like him because he never wore a Red Wings jersey and celebrated with the Stanley Cup in Chicago. Roenick's language is colorful at times in the book, perhaps unnecessarily vulgar. If he can be articulate on television without the profanity, he can do so in the book. That said, I probably would not give the book to a young person. I, on the other hand, found it to be enjoyable.I believe the book was well paced, though I selfishly wish he would have spend more time discussing his Blackhawks days. The Blackhawks of the early 90's kindle fond memories. Many of the stories he told are revealing and it left me wanting more.Roenick was honest in the book and discusses his flaws/failings. Unlike some athletes, he does not try to put blame on other. Even though his language is not targeted for youth, his sense of personal responsibility is.
