This book is part of a series from the author's cult, or magickal left-hand path order. Other books in the series deal with other aspects, magickal and otherwise, of this order. However, this book seems to stand alone quite nicely. Everything you need to begin practicing their magick is all spelled out for you in a very easy, and understandable manner. Although it is NOT dumbed down at all. The author simply dispenses with usual cryptic language of many LHP books, but the content is very interesting and complex.I particularly enjoyed the sigils. The book is worth the price alone for the beautifully and original sigils drawn by the author. They are all handcrafted from the ground up, as it were. And having an artist's eye I simply love their designs; although I do have a naturally "dark/goth" aesthetic.Be warned, these sigils aren't for your typical grimoire spirits (as if any grimoire could be said to be typical). These are seals and sigils to work with and call upon this particular cult's idiosyncratic Dark Deities, daemons, spirits, astral vampires, and other assorted and fascinating denizens of the cult's pantheon and cosmology. This is VERY original stuff, which is one of the reasons I love this book in particular.As a very personal opinion, and I don't mean offense to the author or his group/order, I believe the entire cult and its praxis is completely made up, invented by the author or authors in modern times. There is no "ancient cult of maergzjiran". I'm sorry, it simply doesn't exist. There is absolutely no record of this cult ever existing. And there are many hints that much of the information (the supernatural beings) were culled from RPG sources. A cursory observation, and some experience in the RPG world, is all one needs to guess at this. And this is the only problem I have with this. (Thus the docked star.)On the other hand, as an artist, occultist, and from the old "Chaos magick" generation, I have to admit that this cult or whatever, is a distinct and original, pseudo system of magick made by a genius. It is a well crafted creation. I envy this individual. haha I really wish I'd thought of this. Regardless, it's much more creative and open to exploration than that crap "ONA" (order of the nine angles), which bores me to death.And in all honesty I have used some of the practices, albeit from a "chaos magick" perspective, and they actually WORK!! I mean the entities DO actually "talk back". The rituals for healing or what have you, DO in fact heal. And yes, in a cm setting, you can work with Jack Kirby's New Gods and it would "work". However, there is something much more "solid" about these entities. Almost as if they were "there" before this author even created them; akin to how Lovecraft's Cthulhu and Its "great old ones" bunch were "there" before Lovecraft "invented them". Thus for the folks who offhandedly deny that these seals "don't work", I wonder how much effort was put into their works.Magick, like many other skills, take practice, patience and perhaps talent to develop it. I don't believe any magick book spell or ritual would work just because someone purchased the book and tried it only once or a few times. Sometimes it could take a few weeks to months before any results are seen. So one must have patience, as with skill development results will happen FASTER.Let it be known that I am NOT associated with these guys in any way shape or form (and I don't belong to their magickal group). Aside from the fact that I bought a couple of their books. But I BAUGHT them. They weren't given to me for review or any such thing.So lastly, just for the aesthetics alone I recommend this book. The sigils are just beautiful, and give one ideas when creating one's own. The pantheon and cosmology are also very kool and fascinating, if you like darker magicks. Buy it. It's rather inexpensive.

There is so much dis-information in the occult community today and the lie about updating ancient knowledge infiltrates most every thing. It is great to have an author that teaches us ancient materials and right ways.This is not your fluffy pop culture LHP author or organization.Almost everyday I read from one of the Maergzjiran books and find myself amazed. These books my be small/short compared to everything else out there but they are infinitely larger than everything I have read.I don't care if I have read it 100 times, I always find something that blows my mind away.

The results I obtained from working with this book are quite profound and I have seen results despite coming from more so of a Jewish/Christian/Satanic backround of magickal pathworking, all I can say is when you utilize the spirits in this book, let go of "dogmatic" one sided mentality, void your mind of worry or doubt, the spirits will help you as in any other system of magick contact is instant and I for one do not discriminate between magick, I love it all. I would say this book gave me alot of revelation like and quite "biblical" experiences as well as a sense of invincibility when I had for awhile asked for a few specific entities to symbotically possess me. Great stuff, and I would say should only be used by those who are worthy enough to be able to handle the powers contained within. The best thing one can do is work first with the blighted lords, take things slow, and figure out what it is you want and need and this along with any other magick combined will work.
