Does it represent/portray and do it well?Pocahontas herself is a Native American/American Indian woman and Rebello definitely highlights the importance of studying Native American/American Indian cultures and philosophies in the making of this film. I was happy to hear of the names of the NA/AI persons who contributed to the ideas surrounding the movie.II. Does it teach me something or make me think?It taught me a lot about the film-making process (including story, art, music, etc), the processes of Disney Animation Studios, general Native American/American Indian ideals, and the creative process. I paused during many moments to reflect on what this book teaches about content creation.III. Does it perpetuate healthy ideals?The movie itself promotes an open-mind, a connection to nature, love, culture, and enlightenment (as in the opposite of ignorance). This book emphasized those ideals.IV. How was the writing itself? (Style, plot, characters, ease of reading, pace, world-building.)Rebello chose very moving quotes from the production team, quotes that made me feel deep emotions. The book was also easy to read for a non-visual person, and remained interesting throughout.V. Did I enjoy reading it?Absolutely. I gained both mental and emotional pleasure from reading this book.

I love this book! The artwork was done wonderfully. It has a lot of the pre sketches of most of the characters. It explains how they drew some of the scenes. If you love Disney, and love Pocahontas then you'll love this book. It is a great piece to add to your collection!

Una panoramica dettagliata e intrigante che rende giustizia al capolavoro che è questo film! Molto spazio alle immagini e poco al testo, ma le immagini parlano chiaramente da sole. Un ottimo acquisto.

Habe speziell nach der großen Ausgabe gesucht, jedoch nur die kleine erhalten. Werde diese auch behalten.Der Inhalt ist wunderschön, viele Infos und Zeichnungen von der Entstehung lassen einen das Ganze nochmal viel intensiver wahrnehmen.

Un gros artbook, avec énormément de contenu. Des explications sur les celluloïds, des doubles pages avec de magnifiques décors... Je ne regrette vraiment pas mon achat, il est très complet et très beau ! Et quelle surprise en ouvrant le livre : un autographe de Stephen Rebello, écrit il y a plusieurs années, pour la première propriétaire ! :)Le livre est arrivé dans les temps, et emballé.. Dans un énorme sac en toile de jute. Impressionnant, pour un livre ! Le facteur a dû bien rigoler pour le mettre dans la boîte, heureusement rien de cassé ! Le livre était même couvert avec un plastique transparent, le précédent propriétaire en a pris soin et ça se voit !
