Imperial Brasscaster All Brass Hollow Body Tele Custom with 60's Vintage Neck Profile The Brasscaster by Imperial Steelworks This is Imperial's new Brasscaster. As you see, it's a hollow body Telecaster Custom with one humbucker and one single coil. It's an all brass body, including the pickguard, bridge and all hardware. The vintage feel maple neck has a 60's "C" profile with medium jumbo frets and is finished amber tinted lacquer. The bridge and pickups are from Trevor Wilkinson. The weight is just over 7 lbs. and the tone is fantastic. I especially like how the lower strings growl, but overall I have gotten the best blues solo tone of my life from this guitar. Looks great on the wall, but is a player too
Just what I wanted for my collection. I have always wanted a guitar made of metal/aluminum, but never had the nerve to pay megabuck$ for one. I don't play Fender-type guitars that much, I prefer wider and flatter fretboards and humbuckers, but I have always had a soft spot for the simple beauty that is the Tele. Not only does this one look great with its unique body and vintage finish, it actually plays very well. It is very decently made, and the Wilkinson pickups and hardware don't disappoint either. The guitar has a warm sound, not that spanky, and it is quite loud acoustically being a hollow-body; also, it is not too heavy for the same reason. These days you can get a lot of guitar for this kind of money if you look around, but this is quite worth it, IMHO. I would also consider getting the Steelcaster, and maybe even the Coppercaster, should they decide to sell it on Amazon.
