McCall's Pattern Company M6800 Misses'/Miss Petite Lined Coats, Belt, Detachable Collar and Hood Sewing Template, Size E5 (14-16-18-20-22)

Other than a duffelbag I made in 7th grade and hemming some pants, this was the first thing I have sewn, and I think it was an ambitious project. I had a very specific coat in mind and modified the D pattern (shortening it, adding a pocket, changing the buttons, etc.) On close inspection you can tell it wasn't done by a professional but never the less, I am very proud of it. This pattern was so easy for a beginner to follow. I did make a mockup with cheap material to work out some of the kinks which saved me a lot of frustration. Overall I would recommend to beginners IF you're willing to go slow and really do your research.

Haven't made this yet but I love the style. I want to make it for my daughter but she is in the process of losing weight so it will have to wait awhile.I might even make one for myself.
