The book came in a timely basis and it was in good shape. The book give a lot of good information on Monticello. I liked the pictures of the inside since you are not allowed to take pictures inside Monticello on tours.

I have been a fan, for lack of a better word, of Thomas Jefferson for many years. He was a remarkable statesman, planter, architect and a brilliant mind. The book not only shows the reader Monticello in great pictures and text, it also reveals a good deal about Thomas Jefferson himself and the world in which he lived.

The pictures taken over the four seasons depicting Monticello are absolutely beautiful and if you are a lover of history and Thomas Jefferson in particluar this is a must have book. If you have never been to Monticello it will no doubt inspire you to go and if you have been it will bring back fond memories each time you review it.

I bought this book as a present to a German friend, who is an avid Jefferson fan. Even though he will have some difficulty reading the text, he was thrilled by the photographs and details about Monticello and its surroundings. It is a volume both serious Jefferson scholars and lay people can enjoy.

Beautifully photographed book along with plenty of information on one of the most important historical structures in America. Much more than a "coffee table" book. I suggest it along with the book "Thomas Jefferson--the Art of Power."

This work successfully links the many unique qualities of Thomas Jefferson's personality to the unique qualities of the home that he designed and spent most of his life building and rebuilding. All of the intriguing features of this home are covered. Anyone interested in this remarkable man and his home who is unable to visit Monticello in person should strongly consider this work.
