Nice quality lights. Bright and look like a step above others I have seen on Amazon. They are covered with clear plastic so look to be water resistant as well, so would work for outside (though I'm using them inside). They've got a few different modes (solid, flashing, etc.) and they are dimable (I got a dimmer for them and it works well). I needed to contact the seller about something and the communication was very prompt and they were easy to work with. Good experience overall.

When I first plugged the transformer into the wall the lights would not remain on. After adjusting the transformer’s plug many times I was able to keep the lights on as long as I did not move the transformer. When the lights had been on for about twenty minutes they suddenly shut off. I felt the transformer and it was very, very hot. I sent this set back and ordered another set of the same lights. Sadly, the same thing happened with the second set. The transformer quickly became very hot and the lights shut off. I sent the second set back and will not order this product again as I fear the heat of the transformer could pose a danger. I am disappointed because I really liked the color and brightness of the lights when they worked.

The first package I received had some issues with the connections. I contacted the seller and got a response right away. The issue was taken care of beyond my expectations and the second package worked flawlessly. LEDs are bright and wiring it into my gun safe was straight forward and quick. I would recommend this product to anyone as the company stands behind the product and responds quickly to any issue.

The LEDs have a nice warm color, and they give off a good amount of light. The tape is easy to cut to desired length, and I didnt have any trouble soldering wires to the cut ends of the tape. The rubber (silicone?) covering looks durable but is also flexible, and the LEDs seem well-protected from any light impacts and maybe even an occasional splash of water. However, the LEDs do give off more heat than I expected. They don’t get hot enough to burn your fingers, but they are not cool, either. I would say they are quite warm to the touch.The main issue I have with this product is with the poor electrical/mechanical contact between the AC power cord and the power adapter body. I believe the AC cord end is almost, but not quite the correct size to snugly grip the prongs on the adapter - the fit is loose and the cord end wiggles around very easily in the socket. I have to press it together just exactly right to get power to the adapter, and the slightest movement of the adapter breaks the electrical contact and my LEDs all go out. I put my cord under a lighted magnifier and did some gentle bending on the contacts in the cord and now it seems to grip tightly. I shouldn’t have had to do that, however, and this is the reason for my 3 star rating.

5/12/17 Second update, 4 stars for service alone! SMPOWER has kept me updated at every point of replacement of my defective unit, I will update again when the replacement arrives. And while I wait for the replacement, and as another reviewer has posted, I can leave it on fade7 without the reds. I'm sure SMPOWER will have a 5th star from me once I see this effect with the reds included.5/10/17 First update, changed to 3 stars for customer service. Within a few hours of my original review, I was contacted by SMPOWER customer service. I was asked to submit photos of my issue, and that a replacement would be sent to me. Will continue to update throughout the replacement process.5/10/17 Product arrived and packaging was fine. I start by opening the package, unrolling all four light strips, and begin testing. All functions and colors worked fine when all strips were connected. Next, I fasten strips to back of television using provided adhesive, then power on television to see the glory and.....ALL Red is out, on all strips, while blue and green are fine. Again, I tested all colors and modes before using adhesive to stick to my television. I will not attempt to repackage and return this sticky mess, but I would be open to receiving a replacement so I can enjoy every color I paid for. These things work amazing. I'm not using them for under the bed with the motion sensor. I'm using them for all four of my windows around my bed period for low lighting, and ambient lighting. Would definitely recommend these for under bed or anywhere you'd like. The motion detector does work really well too, if you're going to use it

We are electrical contractors and we had a large deck lighting project to light the steps with LED tape light. Was looking for about 140’. This seemed a good fit after looking at the reviews. Couldn’t find a lot of information as far as accessories so we ordered a 32’ kit figuring it would get us started and would come with instructions and part numbers for accesssories. Received order within two days. Instructions were useless, there was no useful information at all, There were no part numbers, no contact information for the manufacturer, no website. When we plugged the lights in to test before installation, nothing worked. Very disappointed. We are returning product.

The cable that connects the led strip to the power adaptor gets very hot to the point that I'm worried the wire will eventually melt. Also the led strip is waterproof but not the power adaptor so you cannot use it outdoor. I find the emitted light to be colder than 3000K, but it could just be me. Overall good product if you use it only inside and if you only use half of the strip to avoid heat hazard.

It works well and the colour options are limitless. It creates a nice backlight that can be used while watching TV or even just for decoration. The lights are powered by USB that I plugged into the back of my TV so they turn on/off when the TV does. For my 50 inch TV they were enough to do the sides and top but did reach to the bottom. Only complaint is that the cables used to connecting the strips can loop awkwardly stick out if the lights are too close together.

Does not stick. They should improve the adhesive. Remote is difficult to use, comes with poor instructions. Had to find YouTube how to video to figure out functions and use them. I like that it is easy to install, if it sticks, and it plugs into TV’s USB port to power up.

Great at first, then after a couple of weeks the lights get super hot and turn yellow where they are closest to the power supply and then the yellow travels down the strip farther and farther. They are so hot now that I am tearing them out. They are dangerous now. Wish I could get my money back.Update: The customer service is very friendly and they refunded half, but it does not change the fact that I had to pull them out after 2 months.
