Tocky Special Edition NPR Wait Wait ...Don't Tell Me Mp3 Alarm Clock

I really like the Tocky. It rolls quite easily, even with the roll mechanism turned off, but come to find out, that's one of the best things about it.I have the 'Wait-Wait-Don't-Tell-Me' tocky because I really love the show, but you can easily record your own sounds if you need or want something different. I usually don't sleep through it, because the pattern varies enough to focus my attention.The rolling mechanism is great, but I don't use it here because the floors are stone and it's more than 3 feet off the ground. However, I have found that having to reach carefully for the clock is another way to pull me to wakefulness - if I don't want it to roll across the desk at a touch, I have to concentrate.And for some reason, it wakes me up in a less jarring manner than a standard alarm.The only issue I've had with Tockys is the switch at the bottom front - the ones I've received have a tendency to stick to one side, making them effectively non-funtional when you push the switch in. I returned my first one because I couldn't get the thing to shut off without pulling the batteries (no easy task). This one did it too, but I found a way to fix the switch and haven't had any trouble with it since. I believe Nando is aware of the problem as I've seen it elsewhere; hopefully they've fixed a small design flaw in an otherwise great little clock.

This is a funtionally fun alarm clock. You can't have anymore fun with an alarm clock than the NPR Tocky

Wakes up my teenage son! Does go through batteries quickly.
