Great wee product. Does what it says it does.
Exactly what we wanted, we had a Morhy Richard's one for last few years and were looking to replace it but they no longer do this one. This product is identical apart from the brand name. Easy to use fill a mug pour it in and 60 secs later hot water, saves wasting energy boiling a whole kettle to go sit and go cold. Read some of the negative reviews re only holds so much and water pours out (when overfilled) yep folks clue is in the name "one cup" . We have used this type for cuppas for good few years now. Still have a kettle for boiling lots of water when required but this is ideal for a couple or person on their own.

EXCELLENT PRODUCT - My new best friend!
I ordered this hot water dispenser about a month ago and having read ALL the reviews, before I ordered it, I decided to use it for a while before writing this. I came to the conclusion that those people who didn't like it either did not read the product details properly before ordering it or only used it once. Don't whip the cup away as soon as the cup fills. The cycle ends with a few drips. Until you get accustomed to using it, measure the water in your cup and add to the machine. Most cups are 300 ml capacity or less. When you start to fill the water compartment the water starts to flow down into the lower part and if you haven't measured your water you will overfill and then things get messy! Also, I have not detected any plastic 'taste' to my hot drink as one reviewer had. The machine is well balanced and ideal for less able folk to use as you slide the cup from under the machine and there is less danger of tipping over a cup of scalding liquid. And, yes, it really is hot! As you can gather, I am delighted with my new best friend and I hope you will be too.

Love it! Use softer water for better taste
I Bought a teasmade which I’d always wanted and then realised it was a bit big and the sound of the ticking clock would annoy me next to my bed so I took it back and found this little one cup dispenser on amazon. It’s exactly what I needed and it’s small and efficient next to my bed. I feel like I have a little hotel room in my own house perfect for mornings where I don’t feel like going downstairs and just spending a bit more time relaxing in bed. At first the water didn’t taste good but I later realised it was the chlorine in my hard water reacting with the plastic. I bring up a mug of water from my kitchen before bedtime and use it to fill the kettle up instead of the bathroom tap and now it tastes fine. Really happy with my purchase! And great value for money!

Best simple single tea-maker around
Looks like the former Morphy Richards One-Cup. fill your cup or mug with water, pour into the top. Place the mug underneath (not forgetting the tea bag) and press the on switch. Hey Presto - within seconds the boiling water has poured into the mug. Simple, ridiculously easy to use, energy-saving device. It is so easy and quick, my wife and I use one even for two cups of tea. one-star off because the price has risen on these devices and they seem to be available only in dark brown colour. Otherwise a very good device.

I like it just enough to give it a name.
Not too impressed by my new little "Dalek" ... 1st issue is there's a non-slip rubber plug missing from one of the three feet. It wasn't in the bag nor in the well sealed box so I have to assume it is a QC issue at the factory.I have to admit, I'd have been grateful for an excuse to return this item because the delay in delivery led to me simply using a spare kettle. However, the missing non-slip pad isn't a big enough issue and the "Dalek" doesn't wobble on my table.I find the drip tray to be superfluous and it will probably go in the bin ... A normal sized 11cm coffee mug sits neatly under the spout and there won't be any drips or splashes to worry about. To make my full 500ml cup of morning beverage, I simply use a 500ml bottle, pour in the 300ml as specified then add the rest for a second boiling which fills the cup ... The kettle is fast enough that this is not a problem or chore ... Should you accidentally pour all 500ml into the tank, it doesn't overflow or leak, but it still only spits out the 300ml amount it is supposed to. Simply waiting a moment before switching it on again does the job of serving the accidentally added surplus water ... The instructions clearly say to use a minimum of 150ml, but, 500ml minus the 300ml already poured means there's 200ml left in the tank.So yeah, I'll keep my wee Dalek but if/when it dies (assuming it dies before me) I'll resort to my spare kettle.

Could be a handy item if it worked as described
Only just arrived. Not sure if it reaches boiling point as my tea temerature seemed a little cooler than properly boiled water. It would have been useful to have the unit sit on a power 'pad' like electric kettles mostly use which would have simplified filling. The drip tray is a poor design - it seems it should 'click' into base, but doesn't and moves in use.I may revise start rating after a while if I find it merited.EDIT: start button not staying on - jumps back up and shuts down process.Drip tray is next to useless. Sometimes doesn't squirt out enough water despite using exactly same fill quantity.Down to 1 star.EDIT: It is designed very stupidly. The fill point is at the BACK of the unit instead of somewhere that allowed easy filling - such as front or perhaps one side (front would be the best). The power cord should at least be removable (or the above power pad) as the way it is now, you can not just fill up from the tap.All in all, I consider this product to be a total waste of money. If Ihad a printer I would return it as useless!EDIT 2: It is so bad, I am now considering just putting it in the bin and getting another make. (I can't return it as Amazon seem to be unable to deal with a return from someone who can't print out the label). The final straw for this item was that I needed to press the GO button several times during the time it took to boil just one cupful- several times I ended up with warm water as it seemed to dispense just before it should have.
